Hey guys... So i bought my truck a 2019 trd sport with the 5.7L about 3 months ago and was hearing an engine knock. I have always used 91 octane and well decided to try 87 octane which is the lowest octane availabe to see the difference..
For a surprise the engine knock went away and i got better fuel economy...
Ain't it supposed to be the other way around?

Your TRD Sport should be tuned to run best on 87 from the factory.

Converted... $2.80 a gallon for 87 is not bad and $3.22 for 91:thumbsup:.

Yep.. Its not bad but with all of the forums and web articles i've read.. Same outcome 91 octane better for fuel economy, engine function and power..
But the tunning aspect sounds right, although the 2014 ram i had went through a tank of 87 like it was nothing and ran horrible
