Today I swapped out my original Toyota right rear axle assembly, which includes the bearing hub assembly, dust shield and axle. This new assembly is an aftermarket Dorman assembly, unfortunately made in China. All of the minor vibrations and moaning and groaning is all gone and my ABS system is back on line, everything working as it should. I found a fair amount of sludge in the belly of the axle tube, which I am certain some of this ended up in the differential. So I changed the differential fluid too, used Valvoline 75/90 full synthetic. Apparently the previous owner tried to change the bearing and gave up, but didn't press the spacer back on and not snap ring. So the severely worn bearing was beginning to creep inward. This was most definitely the cause of the ABS system problems. She's running like a dream now. I took her out for a long and vigorous drive, no issues at all and she has some awesome power. Looking forward to several years of a good work truck with her.
