Hey wanted to get some feedback from others to see if anyone has heard about the same things. I’ve had an issue with my headlights where when I’m driving at night and when I hit my left turn signal the dash and goes out as well as headlights turn off. After 3 to 4 secs they come back on, dealer can’t find anything wrong or replicate it. This is intermittent and notice when it’s colder it happens. Also, when hitting the name of person to call on my nav the call is placed and I can’t hear anything on speaker. Next the nav resets, turns off and then back on the reconnects to Bluetooth. A bit frustrated, never had these issues before. The dealer has reloaded software twice already but hasn’t worked. Any ideas other than trade in truck would be helpful.

There’s a few guys on here that have schematics for the electrical system. The man that sells the FRAC is a great resource, but I just can’t remember his name. He is in Texas.

It seems like everything is ran through the head unit now days. I have a hard time believing the turn signal does this, but I have been surprised before.

There’s a thread to help out with these issues “ask the mechanic”, but I can remember a couple of the knowledgeable tech on this site. @mudslinger79 @LOTSOFTOYS

Feel like it might be some type of short. Had a lady that took out my rear passenger panel a year ago and think the body shop might have messed something up. I even took video of the issue on the turn signal when it happened in a parking lot one time. Showed Toyota and still can’t get them to figure anything out.

Those are the toughest to troubleshoot/Find.

Cruising down the road, flip the blinker on and the headlights go out? And the dash? Come back on once blinker cancels? Or whenever it decides to?

Mine does the same, but only occasionally and only if on brights and it seems when turning left. It did it a lot when I started working nights a few months back. I think it's in the turn signal switch. What's crazy is that when it happens the headlights turn off, and the dash lights turn to there bright daytime setting. So far when its happened over been able to bump switch back to center or kill brights and that has corrected the immediate issue.

    Nice like that one Sean!

@LOTSOFTOYS it does it when I pop on my leg turn signal and it happens every now and then. The dash goes out like it’s daytime again and then after 3 or so seconds it comes back on. Oh and the headlights go off, so every time it happens the people in the road think I’m flashing them. I’ve tried to replicate it so has Toyota and there is t one certain thing that I can do that will do it.

@ToyotaDreaming did you find out a cause or just dealing with it for now?

Anyone find out why this is happening? My tundra has the same exact problem.
