My 05 DC 2wd needs a new suspension. I want to bring the front up to match the rear height. Of course the Bilstein 5100 are the go to for this but I am curious about the eibach setup. Anybody running these? Thoughts?

Front Bilstein 6112 shocks & Bilstein springs. Rear Bilstein 5160 remote Reservoir shocks, Wheeler’s Off-road add-a-leafs. LED lighting. Pioneer Avic 7200NEX Nav Head unit. Borla cat back exhaust.
Bilstein has been making Toyota valved shocks for a long time. I’ve used quite a few, always been happy.

I think he's asking about the Eibach coilovers.

@00TundraZ has these but I don't think he's installed them yet.

I understood the question. Just giving my opinion.

I do have them, however I do not have them installed yet. I'm getting all new front suspension and plan to do it all at once. I will likely be done in the next month or so!

I will update my build page once I have them done.

I normally go Bilstein for my cars and trucks. I have become accustomed to the ride of digressive shocks and struts and actually prefer it on my cars. I think Bilstein and eibach are related in ownership, which has me wondering how they differ in ride quality

Well I should also add, I have never experienced Bilstein. I have felt eibach before but only on sports cars. So my opinion will not be able to compare/contrast from the billy's. I will take measurements and give my personal review, but I'm not sure if it will be a huge help for you.

The Eibach's have the clips like the billy's, but with their springs you should obtain 2.5"-3" of lift on the bottom perch. That is where I will have mine.

This is a great distinction in BillyJean and Eibach being related. I’ll have to check this out.

The other distinction is digressive vs. progressive shocks. I really like these 5100’s (digressive) on the street performance. They seem like a very safe feeling shock thats confidence boosting.

    Offroad they are eh.

After much mental deliberation, I’ve come to conclude there is no perfect shock in all conditions. You pick the shock for the majority of your driving.

With this being said, on the next round of new shocks if the 02’ makes it that far in 3-5 years, I may try the ‘Icons’ as by then it will be time for new coils. $$$.

Chances are I will not be doing any off roady so street performance and ride quality is what I am looking for this time around. There is no way I can justify the $$$ for Icons. I'm also considering the Olb Man Emu setup but again cost would exceed $1,000 and I'm not off rodeo. Chances are I will end up with the Bilstein 5100 unless I trip over a deal

That is the conclusion I came to and why I ended up with the 5100’s. Seems like they are a great value so far. The (extreme) jump in price on the others wasn’t justified in my case.

If you know you're not going wheeling and you mentioned it's 2WD then I agree with the 5100 selection. I don't think anyone has been unhappy with the on road performance of those.
