Well luckily the issues were all due to the alignment, so I’ve got nothing bad to say about the suspension.

It rode the same as it does at about 2.25”. No complaints. I’d raise it back up but I really like the stock rake I have again.

what height do you have the shocks set at? I can’t find any reference for the adjustment to correlate to lift height. I know every vehicle is different…

Alright, so when you measure from the bottom of the spring perch to the top of the billet mount part of the shock you get the exposed threads. I used this measurement to figure out my lift and to level the side to side lean.

Place the measuring tape end against the perch bottom.
    IMG_3550.jpg

Then measure to the top of the shock mount body.
    IMG_3553.jpg

    IMG_3543.jpg

My driver side is right at 3" of exposed threads, the passenger side is at about 2 and 7/8th. Toyotas pretty much all seem to be right at a 2:1 ratio, so the 1/8th difference actually measures to about 1/4 of an inch in lift.

Im currently at 24" from the center of the hub to fender. Stock for me was between 21.5 and 21.75. So at most this is a 2.5" lift, at least its 2.25". I can tell it is higher than my old pro, which was a 2".

    For comparison:
    IMG_3512.jpg

    IMG_1574.jpg

Theyre pretty close, but the Eibachs are just a little higher.

Chris, your truck is looking great!
Strange that you're getting that much height from your coilovers. My measurements at the same spot are actually a little higher but I'm still just under 2.25" of lift. I wonder if the weight difference and front/rear weight bias between a CM and a DC has something to do with it?

For those asking about settling and preload on the springs, you aren't going to see much, if any, settling on Eibach springs (or any high quality spring). Maybe over years and 100's of thousands of cycles the springs will weaken, but on brand new setups where you set them is where they'll stay for a long time. As fas as preload, modern linear rate springs aren't affected by preload. The spring rate of a fully uncompressed spring is the same as the spring rate when compressed 1" or 2" or all the way down to just before it stacks up. Ride will feel the same as far as spring rate goes. What does change is the damping characteristics of the shock and available travel. When a mfgr designs a coilover to have say a 0-3" adjustment range, the idea is that the damping is the same through that range. Go outside of that and the shock will start to struggle and you'll find its limits a lot quicker. Obviously if you add height by adjusting the spring collar up, and compress the spring, then you lose some of the remaining available compression as the coil can only compress so much before it stacks up.

Adding a small spacer on top is fine, and shouldn't affect the ride feel as you've done nothing to the spring. You obviously want to avoid maximums in anything like this, so maxing out the coilover, and then adding a 1" spacer on top to get 5" of lift would not be advisable. A 1/4" spacer to fix the lean, or add a little more height while keeping the coilover in the heart of its range is not an issue at all.
All this is to say don't worry about the ride feeling stiffer if you go up a little on the coilover. It should feel the same as if you went all the way down to zero since the spring rate hasn't changed on either setting.

I thought the same thing, perhaps the double cab is a bit lighter.

I wish they’d send some paperwork with rough reference heights. Mine are 3 3/8” exposed thread on both as delivered from Eibach.

Truck is at the shop getting a dent in the door fixed. I'll measure my shocks and threads when I get it back (hopefully tomorrow). I installed them at the preset height and added 1 CB shim to the drivers side.

Also an FYI for anyone interested, I’ll be selling mine here in a few weeks. Stage 2 COs and rear shocks. Looking to get $800.

Of course there’s nothing wrong with them, I just couldn’t help myself once the IM 4x4 sale happened and decided to go 2.5”.

If anyone local to the Portland Oregon area is interested I can preset them to a desired height before taking them off. Will come with shims if you’re interested as well.

I’ll have a formal FS post once they’re off the truck.

I was just going to do 1 inch blocks on the rear, but the more I read I might go shackles. Idk yet. Thoughts? If I did would the 2 inch coach builders give me the lift I need for the 295 70 18? I run a fiberglass camper shell and occasionally tow. Thinking shackles may be my better option.

Shackles would be better, either way 295s will fit on the rear stock. I'd go +2s.

i called David at coach builder yesterday. He recommended the +3. That’s also with 1/2 inch shim passenger and 1 inch shim driver. He said that combination works really well. Does not interfere with adaptive cruise and braking sensors. Shoutout to David!! So awesome to talk to. Put my order in right after I got off the phone.

You suspension updates on the Eibach has me convinced that I should buy the Stage 2s...

Based on some comments in this thread, I am leaning towards getting the +2" shackles, since I do not plan on towing. I will be running 275/70R18 tires, since the truck will be mainly used on paved roads with occasional dirt trails with the family.

Yeah, Im hoping the Ironmans are good, cause the Eibachs are clearly breaking in now and have gotten quite a bit more enjoyable in the last week or so. Im now at about 1500 miles, which seems to be par for the course on break in.

Maybe hold on to the Stage 2s and let the Ironmans break in. You will have a fresh comparison between the two setups. After 1500 miles on the IMs, then decide which one you like better.

I was going to go +2 also. After talking to David, and also looking more closely at @Elduder rig, I decided on the +3. David told me that will give the truck the 3/2 rake - which he also says is close to factory rake and not interfere with driving sensors. I guess I trust the guy that does it for a living. Going to be running 295 70 18, +20mm rims. Also I run a camper shell all the time, so I wanted a little more in the rear.

This is not to say I don’t trust the members of this forum!!! Y’all are great. I’m amazed at the knowledge in here people share.

Got the Eibach Pro stage 2 kit on today. I forgot to measure beforehand because I am terrible, but I measured my dad's stock 2011 and I am roughly 2 in higher which is pretty much what I was aiming for because they come preset at two and a half and I didn't quite want that. I took it on some baseline roads where I knew I was unhappy with how the Tundra rode and it passed with flying colors. The on road manners are fantastic. It's like they kept the stock ride but removed the bad parts. Compared to the "TRD tuned 6112s and 5160s on the Tacoma and the IronMan FCPs on the Frontier, this rides FAR better on road. As for off road, competent would be the right word. I don't feel invincible like I did in the Frontier ( That was a full kit including new rear leaf springs ) and compared to the Tacoma ( Lighter and had a 3 leaf AAL ) it feels only slightly less capable ( and maybe the Tacoma wasn't more capable maybe it was just the fact that I was younger and beat on it pretty hard :D )

TLDR: The Eibach Pro stage 2 kit is great, especially for the price.

The ride home was like cloud 9. Compared to stock this felt slightly more absorbent on the road. Super happy, worth every penny.

I don't know if any of you saw, but they are currently in the process of making reservoir shocks for the rear. As long as the price isn't ridiculous I will definitely be getting a pair. https://youtu.be/MMqRU2tEVnU

Ok! The truck is done! I freakin love it. Only had it at highway speeds. But it rides like a dream. To be fair, the truck has been quite miserable to drive because of the worn out mud tires that were replaced. It was deafening going down the road. But even when the truck was new I don’t remember it being so responsive cornering, and taking highway “bumps” so well. I do have a slight rub at full turn, and may do the bmc when I get home. (Currently road tripping in Tennessee…. Also if anyone knows any trails I could test the truck out around Gatlinburg hmu).
