We've been working a tailgate spoiler ever since @eddiefromcali sent us his spare. And we're finally close enough that I can officially announce it and open up things up not only pre-sales ($5 deposit, with perks afterwards) but ALSO for BETA TESTING!

If you want to place a $5 Reservation, you may do so here... just like all the other times, you will get your $5 back plus some additional perks, including being the first in line to receive the product! (After they pass the beta test)


If you want to be a beta tester you can sign up here! You'll get the part for a STEEP discount, however, it may not be perfect, which is where you come in. You'll let us know how it goes and get to keep the part! Not everyone will get chosen for the beta test, but we'll reach out to anyone chosen in the coming months.

I was going to ask you, if you didn't sign up since you sent us that big ol' thing for free.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "cover restrictions". No preview picture, yet. But we'll have one VERY SOON! I'll tag you when I post it.

We'll be offering ALL of our typical "molded-in-color" colors... so gloss black, matte black, Ice Cap, Magnetic Gray... but we'll also offer painted as well!

This is more of an applique, but it will make the "non-TRD Pro" trim levels look like the TRD Pro. So it will fit the SR5, Platinum, 1794 etc.

 

When will these be available approximately?

 

The timeline is looking like somewhere close to a month and a half to two months, assuming everything goes to plan. That includes beta testing and getting responses.... so we're going to need our testers to be ready and available.

 

How will the spoiler look like? I would suggest something sleek.

 

It is designed to make the SR5 and other models look similar to the TRD Pro. Think of it more as a restyling of the tailgate, than an actual "spoiler" a car.

 

So just to be clear. This wont simply be a cover that has the same shape of the already installed "spoiler", it will change the shape of it?

The TRD Pro is textured, almost like 3d printed look/feel, iirc. I Think its bigger since it houses the 3 LEDs.

 

I'll have to get a little more clarification. We scanned the part you gave us but the part is going to fit every trim level that isn't the TRD Pro, to give it the TRD Pro look is how it was explained to me. This product will very likely not come in a textured plastic, simply because it's far too expensive. We want to be affordable but still be a luxury-type product.

I'm sure that there will be a version that has holes for the markers, yes. But that's just about all I'm allowed to say at the moment... although those crayola markers are weak.

It was all about sniffing these bad boys for a concerning amount of time before coloring.

@EC1 do you have any design details you can update for us? Will the cover go up onto the handle pocket thing? Any idea on price?

I recently got a couple quotes to wrap the part (black) and they were obnoxious ($450 & &850!); I can buy the Toyota part at that point. Hoping this comes in on the reasonable side.

 

Hey guys, I added a poll! We've discussed added lighting to the top and R&D asked me to put out a poll. We will 100% make one without lighting, but would YOU buy one with a lighting feature?

Lighting would likely be near the top where the holes are. The no lighting feature option might not have holes.

New update for you. there's NO WAY that our stuff will cost that much. I have a pricing sheet right in front of me and I want to say what it says, but I don't want to lead you astray if it's not correct. But based on what I'm seeing I think you'll find the prices VERY reasonable, if these prices are anywhere close to the final pricing.

Also, we just cut out our first applique, so it's going through some alpha testing on our end.
