    @SAGE63 i know!

Lol, I thought you volunteered to be the tow rig!

The FS ad has my signature, with a link to this thread, so all is fully transparent as to all the various mall runs this truck has done!

Well, she will be gone tomorrow! New owner is local, so might still see it around town from time to time.

But with that comes the quest for its replacement. After much deliberation it’s looking like we’re going to replace the Tundra with another Tundra before getting a little gas saver!

If y’all see a deal, holler at me!

    Looking for:
    • 2nd gen or 2.5 gen Tundra 4x4 and 5.7L
    • Bench seat up front
    • Ideally Crew Max but not against Double Cab
    • Preferably not 2007 or 2012
    • Fiancée would prefer one with a back up camera (but could always be added later)
    • Preferably 2010+ with the headlight adjuster dial
    • And the kicker - sub $20k (with a little wiggle room)

Uh. Are we not gonna talk about why your got rid on one to get another?! I’m super confused. :notsure:

Edit: I think I’ve got a winning guess: you bought high and need to lower your payment for the *same* truck….

Your edit is close. I’ll send you a text, but the gist is to get into a lesser expensive Tundra that will transform into the weekend toy over the coming years and the positive equity in the current Tundra can be more well utilized elsewhere.

Curious why you prefer to stay away from 2007 and 2012? (*read* what do I not know that I should be looking out for on my truck?)

There are a couple 2012s up here in the PNW that fit your criteria and look pretty clean on the surface. We don't have much of a problem with rust up here for the most part either, very few spots that use salt on the roads.
    https://portland.craigslist.org/clc/cto/d/clackamas-2012-toyota-tundra-4x4/7575880015.html

A couple older and higher miles and not as clean for sub 10k up here as well

I’ll be sure to tell him about it, but no idea if he will.

The paranoia side of my brain tells me to stay away from them lol. Google search shows they’re the two years with a higher potential for issues. I’m sure it’s a slim chance to have issues, but I’m already concerned enough of the history of the truck and why it’s available for sale so I try to be cautious.

Haha I have that one in my saved list :fistbump:
There was an “old man tan” at a Ford dealer there that looked like a great deal but as I went back to it to add the link it’s now listed as sold haha.

Hahaha dude!!! I wanted the 38gal tank too… but the price was well worth it. Now I have to stop by gas stations more often…

Then again, could always swap tanks and buy the fuel straps.

Good luck on your quest @eccracer.

    I wouldn't discount the 2012 btw.

Aside from my ffv fuel pump replacement/ecu flash(warrantied), the truck has been bomb proof. 136k miles. I've put 90k miles on it.

Lol. Yessir! I’d be lying if I said I haven’t been eyeing those steel 46gal tanks that’re totally legal in CA.

    :woot:

Haha. I’m working my girl on that one. There’s actually a high miles 2018 DC I want us to look at.

    Thank you!

I won’t. I’m sure the issues are few and far between, just can’t help but to have that eerie feeling about some trucks regardless of year. Not to mention the mileage of most the trucks I’m seeing should have had any of the bugs worked out by now haha.

Wait a minute. That 38 gallon tank is a requirement. Guess you’ll have to swap one in.

Gotcha, the only problem with my truck was back in 2013 when it had some sorta weird magnetism between the rear passenger door and a really big rock. And it was not me driving, I was 14 at the time and watched the rock getting closer to the window where I was sitting :eek2:. Good Luck with your search man!!

Ok, but plan to run Caliraised amber pod lights on the sides as well as front and back… pretty much like a ‘70’s semi truck. That colour compeletely disappears in dust running anywhere in Anza-Borrego. I’ve done trail runs with @fisherman951 and a non-forum buddy with a current gen 4runner (very few mounting points unless a roof rack is mounted) and it’s a serious challenge.

I’ll apologize to Bre for raining on her parade but IMO that color is begging for a major collision doing anything fun off pavement.

    *more unsolicited advice; ugh! Sunny….
