Damn, this build is sweet!! I gotta go through the whole thing now, I found it in my search. Since you did the spindle gussets, do you think they can they be done while they’re on the truck?

    Thank you!

I suppose it could be done on the truck, but I’d take them off for piece of mind that you don’t overheat/melt any bushings or the cv axles.

Status update on the skid plates for anyone interested. After a fellow member advised me the issue I’m experiencing is due to receiving Land Cruiser skids instead of Tundra skids I reached out to Bud Built with my issue. They said my skids are correct and are sending out the correct hardware because unbeknownst to me I had previously received the incorrect hardware.

Did this fix the problem: TBD :burp: :fingerscrossed:

I went out to Sand Hollow a few summers ago in August and temps were also in the 105 - 110 range and it was miserable. Didn't do any trails in Sand Hollow (just chilled by the lake and got 3rd degree sunburn on the 2nd day of a two week trip), but did some off-roading in Hurricane/La Verkin, Cap Reef, Moab and Arches.

Oh man that sounds brutal. The sunburn that is. The heat we already know was rough haha.

Sounds like it was a rad trip though!

My headlights were looooong overdue for a cleaning. Picked up the heavy duty Meguiars kit and went to work.

    Here they are pre-treatment

Solid engine mounts arrived today! Now I need to find time and coordinate schedules with @tundra_20 to install them.

Next time your headlights fade, sand out the fade to 800 grit and paint the lights with 2K clear coat off Amazon. Same clear coat they use to paint cars, they'll hold up WAYYY longer.

Wow, all the way to 800?

    2K clear coat, check!

    Thank you for the advice!

Yup any more than 800 and I think the 2K clear won't stick as well. Did my 4runner headlights like this and they've looked the same for over a year now.

Been here for a couple days now, no movement. Idk if it’s desert running strong but should work for this trip.

Careful on how far you chase those out, only so much paint you can remove before you’re in a world of hurt….

    Got that right.

I’m using foam, no wool, so less a chance for burn through. I am using a heavy cut compound and a heavy cut pad, but letting the machine work with moderate but firm pressure. Trying to play it on the safe side while still doing enough.

I’ve toyed with the idea of color sanding, but that’s above my pay grade and don’t want to test the waters on my truck haha.

I might swap out the front driver fender with an un-dented one I picked up if I can get some of the marks off that. If so can do some experimentation on that, but honestly don’t think I have it in me haha.
