The Tacoma was shuttle bunny to get the tires swapped out today. Got the rear u-bolts all re-torqued so that end is done. Got the UCAs out, stock coils busted loose and ready to come out. Here's my question, do I have to take out the LBJ bolts or can I get enough room with pry and cuss to swap the coils? It looks like if I take a couple of brake line brackets loose I'll have plenty of room. I know you guys have done this a million times that's why I'm asking here. Thanks, The Rake King...

I ditched the sway bar, didn’t have to mess with the LBJ or tie rod ends.
I can’t remember if I unbolted the UCA to the spindle though.
If memory serves right used a pry bar to force droop the suspension and got the built 5100 in there.

I disconnected the sway bar and was replacing the UCAs with Total Chaos. I was thinking I might be able to squeeze the 5100s in there with the olde pry and cuss. Thanks! Pics tomorrow hopefully.

Don’t forget to lube up with cold ones, job is basically impossible without a few cold ones

Should have plenty of room if you’ve got the UCA separated from the spindle too.

With many cool down points the TC UCAs are in. Got a call from Down South that the ADS's are ready for shipping so "Stretch" might sit on the stands until they show up...Too be announced.

Thanks for the input guys, most appreciated. The SD group is incredible!

Little something something to share. Been putting down lots of miles and lots of adventure. Still haven’t made it to Tahoe though haha. Next stop, hot springs. Should be to our destination by 10

I have a moment to share some of our trip.

    Just your typical Friday :p
Rolled into camp at 1:30am, set up and took some night photos. Got to bed at 3am then the sun woke us up at 6am which was just greeeat.
We packed up and headed over to a photo shoot location our friend wanted us to go to, and it was well worth it!
From there hit the road to a BBQ spot we hit last year, but realized we would arrive an hour before they opened so took the opportunity to detour to Reward Mine. So worth it! It’s a blast to drive in there and the road to it is a lot of fun.
After the mine we continued on to the BBQ spot, had lunch, and then continued on to Mono Lake. We went to the South Tufa location which was really cool to learn about. Again, well worth the detour.
Left from there to our favorite hot springs. Enjoyed soaking in the water for awhile until we saw lighting in the distance. Hiked back up the trail and hit the road just as the rain started.
We parted ways and finished our journey up to Lake Tahoe.

    Photo dump:

Didn’t take many pics in Tahoe, but had a blast on the lake, the mighty Truckee, and mountain biking some local trails (even though it tore up poor Moose’s pads :( )

Came back down the 395 on Monday, got back to Alabama Hills at a reasonable enough time to look for a campsite during daylight which was a nice change of pace haha.

Played around with some more night shots before turning in and finishing the drive today. Back home in SD!

    Thank you!
And welcome to the forum :fistbump:

I use a Sony A6000 with the stock lens. 30 second exposure, low iso, and open up the aperture to the max.
Normally I use my phone flashlight haha.
For that particular photo my buddy had a bright flashlight that he used to help me. Quickly would blow out the pic, so a fast smooth pass worked nicely to light up the truck, camp, and surrounding landscape.

Sooo much along the 395! It’s a really nice drive. Yup took it all the way to outskirts of Carson City then hit the 50 over to the lake.

Haha! The moonrise was like 2:15-2:30am that night. Photos come out much better without the moon as it hides a lot of the stars.

Too many people would have been blinded which would have made them unsafe to drive and well can’t run that risk of someone hitting the truck so clothes were on

Got the front end installed and finished up yesterday, going for alignment tomorrow. Still a bit o' rake but the camper will be landed Saturday. I'll trash up your thread with some pics tomorrow.

The TC UCA's call out for 173 ft/lbs torque, my sorry olde ass was swinging from the torque wrench crying for the damn thing to click!
