Mike or @Sunnier either of you have speedfreaks contact info other than creating a user name on TW? Need a cab mount done and he seems like a good local option. If you have it and could message me that’d be awesome. Appreciate ya :hattip:

Great to meet you too, Tony!
Haha big time. I didn’t have time to throw the shell back on, but they didn’t get as wet as I’d expect with how much rain we hit driving back. Lol.

I know! A part of me has nostalgia to see them, but that’s a small part and I more so can’t wait to be rid of them. Haha. Just hoping the tire shop can squeeze me in without too much a wait, I plan to be there when they open

This is also on the back burner, but I started planning my retrofit for this truck.

Does anyone have experience with the Morimoto M-Led projectors?
    https://www.theretrofitsource.com/bi-led-morimoto-m-led-headlight-projectors-kit-HS-MLED?quantity=1
    Projector low beam light output:

I was looking at these BX built headlights:
    673D9C41-2CA3-4785-BC14-83EDF29681E1.jpg
My buddy had them build a set for his 4runner and they turned out really nice. But the appeal of building them DIY with nicer projectors is really appealing. Also really digging the idea of a Squadron in full spot for a high beam.

Lol they’re not. They are 35”. I’m going to try to resist the temptation for 37” until I have fiberglass and a regear. So it’ll be awhile :playball:

New clock spring arrived, started it, then my boss called and wanted to chat about my recent work trip to Michigan. Suddenly it got very dark but was able to finish with careful phone flashlight placement.
(Note to self: find my damn headlamp! )

Good news, it works as intended! Woohoo! Now I have a working horn  beep beep!
And the rest of the steering wheel controls, and cruise control are also working as they were before.

Wasn’t a hard job. Just make sure to disconnect the battery early and put the key in and try to start it or play the radio. Anything to drain any excess power to avoid the airbag going off.

Everything else worked pretty easily. Gotta love Toyota! Without a steering wheel puller give the wheel a few good smacks and it’ll free up so you can pull it off.

I’ve seen a lot of people state a 15 minute job, I’d wager closer to 30-40 but maybe that’s just because I was working in the dark. Overall it’s simple if anyone else needs to do this. Videos and write-ups are out there and available as well.

    And complete.
(Aside from drilling, extracting, and tapping for a new bolt. That can wait for another day.)

    Howdy :hattip:

It’s a possibility I’ve been looking into a lot more recently. I would really like a bigger bed and more cabin room would be nice.

I’d prefer a 1st Gen extended cab but I’d be open to a 4 door
Also like the 2nd gens but they feel hugeee

How do you like yours on the trails?

It’s big, no lie. Haha. The 2nd gens have pros and cons just like everything else, but I really enjoy this platform.
1st gens also have a wealth of pros and cons. Can’t go wrong either way really.

Moving from the 2nd gen Tacoma to the 2nd gen tundra was awesome. The size and power is worth the small hit in mpg…

the 1st gen tundra is a nice step up with the power and is similar in size to the Tacoma.
