I just bought one off Ebay the price was such a deal, I hope it isn't a pile of poop. I will post some pictures when it arrives. I have read some threads but most seem to be for 14+ trucks, any tips or tricks for install?

So the bumper was supposed to be delivered today. This morning I get a call from Fed Ex ground, this package is too big we will not deliver it, you can pick it up or we will send it back to the shipper. Because I wanted the damn thing I made the 1hr + 45 mile round trip to get it. I am loading it in to the truck I see package 1 of 2, ok where is package 2? Fed Ex folks ( who were super nice and helpful ) do some looking, oh no worry it is on the truck for delivery. The shipment was sent signature required, guess who was not home when package 2 of 2 was attempted to be delivered... Yup I was AT Fed Ex getting the "over-sized package" or package 1 of 2.

What a cluster. The bumper appeared to be pretty well wrapped, it however does have a minor boo-boo on it from shipping. I have emailed the seller via Ebay and explained my situation and I hope they have an idea to make things a little better.

Also lights are not pre-installed as the ad states

I think @Grey Wolf has the same bumper. Matt could give you some info from his install.

Mine arrived with damage. Powder coat chipped in several places. The biggest issue was the bumper did not align up properly. Well built but piss poor quality control during welding process. I didn't want to deal with shipping it back so I accepted $150 refunded back to my PayPal acct. I'm keeping it but highly regret buying it. Powder coat is still peeling off by the way.....

You might be lucky. I have seen some these with correct fitment on our Gen2s. These are Chinese knock offs. My bumper was clearly jigged up wrong before the robotic welding. I ended up paying a little over $5 bills. The winch mount plate assembly that the bumper bolts onto is quite beefy actually and all the welds looked real good.

I didn't use the lights that were supplied. I used higher output lights and wiring harnesses bought off Amazon. Reused switches I already have mounted on dash.

I got box 2 today, looks decent and the winch plate is beefy. Also they sent me 8 lights instead of just 4

went on pretty good, the finish is chipped is spots but overall I am happy with it. It was much more difficult removing the stock bumper vs putting this one on.

I got one for my 2016 same exact problem they sent one to my shop. The fedex guy wouldn’t even take it off truck bc it was so damaged. Then sent it back. Sent me another one without the tray. Had to wait for them to ship again with the tray. The the second bumper that come was also damaged.... small dent and peeling powder coat. Talked the guy into 200$ credit. I mean I’m gonna mess it up anyway (what my mechanic pointed out). So I ended up getting it lol for 300$. It is what it is I’m happy with it

Is plasti dip the cheap easy way to cover/hide the chrome on the grille? I am planning on doing something inexpensive on the grille and rather focus the dollars on a rear bumper

I used it on my rear bumper and I was somewhat surprised how well it turned out and is quite tough. No scratches yet. I'm thinking you should give it a shot.

Excactly why I kept mine. It's going to get some abuse anyways at times. The DV8 bumpers for the 3rd Gens do seem to have no fitment issues like the ones for the 2nd Gens. I should have asked for $200 credit instead of $150...dang it..haha.

Seems odd that FedEx would accept a package they won't truck to customer??

I only find it for $915 on ebay?

exactly what I said, the Fed Ex ground lady said something called a "spotted truck" which I have no idea what that means. She did say it happens all the time.

Most sites that sell heavy/bulky items require delivery location to have a loading dock. Mine was shipped to my work address.

I would agree with that as well however the Ebay ad has no mention of a loading dock required.

Yeah mine the closest i could get it was about 3/4" to the bottom of the trim under the headlights. I am happy with it i can live with the spacing between as a little leway for body flex using the winch. Got a 12.5k badlands winch in there and used it to pull bushes couple weeks ago did just fine not any play in it at all.

How is this bumper attached? Brackets to the frame, existing holes?

I ordered adapters so I didn't cut the factory wiring, then just wired them up. I gave the 4 extra lights to my buddy who helped me install it for his XJ cherokee

It has been a couple weeks and just as a point of reference my front end height has changed next to none, I am talking 1/16" so so. FWIW I am on 6112s at the top setting no shims or anything else.
