I got in a pretty insane wreck in my 3 month old to the day Tacoma.

I've been waiting for a new bumper that I feel safer behind and also has a styling that I like. I have always liked the DV8 products and so I've been watching them for quite a while now. They finally got it in stock to ship to anyone.

I got it all installed yesterday. I still need to figure out what I want for lighting behind that grey grill you see. I'm also unsure if I'm going to pick up a winch that I will probably never use or fabricate something to fit in that slot.

I think that I'm going to paint the mustache a flat black so that it looks like it's all one piece with the bumper.

I always tell ppl once you’ve been in an accident with a steel bumper, you don’t want to go back. I totaled 3 cars in my steel bumper Tacoma (not my fault) and it’s worth every penny.

How is the coverage on the intercoolers? I am also looking at this bumper.

Agreed. There are precisely zero aftermarket bumpers that are going to outperform factory engineering in the safety department. The current gen Tundra has the highest marks for safety in actual crash testing.

That's very true. However, if your looking for something to protect against "fender benders" there are some good options.
Got cutoff and dude ripped off my front bumper, insurance said no fault, so I was out my deductible. Meanwhile this guy barely had a scratch. Not saying his bumpers look good but saved him his deductible lol

Yeah with steel plate bumpers there is almost no such thing as a fender bender LOL. I will say there was always a thought in the back of my head when I had plate bumpers on my Tacoma that insurance may jump all over me if I were to be at fault in an injury collision due to having aftermarket bumpers that I'm sure in many places would be considered "for offroad use only" and not street legal.

i wonder how that works for those F350 and up trucks with those massive steel bumpers on front/back (ie: railroad crew trucks, oil field trucks, etc)

Yeah I dunno. It could very well be a non-issue. Just something that crossed my mind a few times. Didn't stop me from driving around with them for years.

Did you ever find out any info on the DV8 bumpers coverage? I'm also looking at those bumpers.
