    Working on it!
Anyone have any problem with the DSR1 - RD900/5 amp and the new JBL head unit in 2020s? I've got that setup and having a couple of issues: (1) some of the Carplay features (verbal instructions on Maps, for example) doesn't work and (2) on occasion, the head unit doesn't have any sound and the truck has to be restarted and it works fine. Any ideas?

I don't use voice commands but yes to no sound sometimes. You do not need to restart the truck...just hold the volume knob down to force the HU to restart and when it boots up there will be sound. Once or twice I had to reboot the HU twice before there was sound. Just one more reason I'm waiting for the next generation of aftermarket HUs and then I'll replace the stock unit and won't need the DSR-1.

DSR 1 is the worst piece of stereo gear ever, from programming to hardware. Good luck trying to get it work right on a 2020. I re-programmed mine 3 times now and gave up. Ripped it out. Have the same issues you’re having with voice prompts. And with no music playing, there are plenty of floor noises. Can’t stand it.

To me, the DSR-1 is just a necessary evil if you want to keep the stock HU. It's not perfect, it gets the job done, but a good aftermarket HU without a DSR-1 is superior.

Far from perfect. Pay $300 and get stuck with issues and headaches. No thanks. A better solution would be the PAC Amp pro. I just installled it in my ES 350 with zero issue. I didn’t have to program anything, it’s just plug and play. All of my voice prompts works and no floor noise at all. There is even an option for a toslink cable that is not susceptible to noise. They have it figured out compared to the junky DSR-1. Unfortunately they only have a unit for 2019 and older tundra. They are still working on the unit for the 2020 Tundra.

There's the rub...a nonexistent product is not helpful. Hopefully, this will come to fruition and be another option for people who want to keep the stock HU.
