Thanks again for all your help. Definitely hit you up when it comes time to purchase headers.

Thanks. It's an ENVE Grille. They make some pretty cool Tundra grilles. He routinely runs sales. Picked up my grille for 25% off. Great customer service and he completed the project ahead of time.

Well that's quite the compliment. I did get a chuckle that the trucks say Toyota Tundra next to each other.

Thanks man. All though I'm starting to feel a little cursed. Finally got headlights and they were good to go.

My latest adventure is my new alarm remote shorting out. I wasn't able to bypass so everyone in the Home Depot parking lot thought I was trying to steal my own truck. Cops were called and had to get my wife to bring me my extra remote so I could get the truck started. Bypass wouldn't work for some reason.

Exhaust was installed today. Found a great local shop to take care of it for me. I'm very impressed with the @dirtydeeds exhaust. It's exceeded my expectations and performs exactly how everyone said it would. IMG_3027.jpg IMG_3026.jpg IMG_3022.jpg

Well the never ending saga with my @eledobleu retrofit headlights continues. Went to have them installed and another part is broken. I don't know if it's just bad luck or what but I truly regret just not buying a set of spyders at this point.

Your truck is looking great. Sorry to see the continuation of the headlight problem. What are you going to do about the headlights?

Going to let paypal deal with it at this point. I'm unable to come to an agreement with the seller. Not really going to say much else until I see how this process goes.

As per our email, I'm sorry to see the problems you have with your Retrofit. First time was caused by shipping company. I reimbursed you for the new light that you purchased and retrofitt a new set for you.

Your installer done the damage this time unfortunately as he broken the oem level adjustment while installing and trying to aim your headlights. Because this is not a part from the retrofit I cannot warranty it. As stated in the email, there are no refunds once your Retrofit starts. It also states in the terms and conditions that any damage occurred during installation is not covered by warranty.

I recommend you contact your installer and take this up with him. But unfortunately there's nothing I can do about this.

I disagree. I don't think you used the headlights I provided. I shipped brand new ones from Amazon. The ones I received back have scratches on the glass and you can see where the were previously installed. I think it was an existing issue. I don't think you acted maliciously but none the less I did't get the product I paid for.

As far as my installer goes. He has amazing reviews, completed previous projects with no issues and has insurance that would cover something like this. He has absolutely nothing to gain from this situation. Here is his comments below.

I do not agree with him. Listen, If I damaged the lights I would offer to pay to have everything redone no questions asked. However, I was unable to even adjust the lights when I tried because the adjuster was/is broken. These were supposed to be a brand new set of headlights. There already were indications that they were not. If that is the case, there is a chance the clip was damaged before he even got his hands on them, and the damage got worse the more the light was handled.

From what I can tell, the adjusters do have to be unscrewed when the housings are taken apart to do the modifications, otherwise you cannot separate the reflector housing from the back of the headlight housing to modify it for the new projector housing or paint it for that matter. Also, it is very hard to do that kind of damage to that plastic clip with a machine threaded bolt, unless everything is completely apart and someone tried to force things back together and either cross threaded the adjuster screw or forced the bolt into position and broke the clip. The only other way I can see that adjuster clip being damaged like that is from someone cranking the adjuster until it bottomed out and put too much pressure on the clip.

Again, I personally have never done a retrofit myself, but seeing how the outer lens, the backside of the housing and the reflector housing of the Tundra lights goes together, I would think that all the pieces would have to be separated in order to disassemble and reassemble after the reflector housing was painted and the new projector installed.

I am trying to grasp my head around the statement regarding that I had to have done something wrong while adjusting the lights. The adjustment screw turns in one direction to raise the lights (counter clockwise) and the other direction to lower them (clockwise). Pretty simple stuff. Explain to me how you can do something wrong turning a screw to adjust the headlights? Even if the adjuster is completely unthreaded, that white clip is supposed to remain in place so that the adjuster can be threaded back in. Otherwise, how would you rethread the auto leveler adjusters in the appropriate housings? I had no issues when I removed the auto levelers from your stock headlights and had to re-install them when the retrofits did not function properly. Also, if he does not touch the level adjusters while doing the installation then I would think that the white clip that was broken would have black paint on it, since it would remain installed while the reflector housing is painted. I could be mistaken though.

The lens were new with no scratches. The scratches you are referring too are the mold lines on the headlights. If you notice it's the exact same on the opposite side. I have your broken that was damaged if you want proof that your new headlight was used for the retrofit.

This is the third time someone has tried to get PayPal involved on damaged that was not caused by me. Everyone on this website knows that any damaged causes by me or shipping company I'm very fast and easy as getting it fixed.

But again in this case your installer damaged the level adjuser while trying to aim your lights. This is why I take pictures and keep records of emails, damage claims and transactions.

I understand it sucks to have you go through this, but I did fix your light that was damaged by the shipping company at no extra cost to you. But I am not responsible for damage caused by your installer.

Seriously? They were damaged because you did a crappy job packing them for shipping the first time.

I know what your reputation is, that's why I chose to do business with you in the first place. Also, you fixed the passenger light. This issue is with the driver side.

Lights get damaged during shipping, It happens. I do not pack the lights anymore, UPS packs them for me. So when damaged I can file a claim and not take responsibility. You received the lights 10 days ago with no reported damage. The day your installer tries to install the lights something breaks and you hold me responsible!?! We will let Paypal handle this claim. You might want to contact your installer as well for this.

I was able to recoup about 80% of my money back.

The paypal claims process required me to get a 3rd party damage estimate. I found an advanced installer from The Retrofit Source located in Peoria, AZ (200 miles roundtrip). Because of the time frame from paypal I had to drive up there on a Thursday to have them take a look.

They spent roughly 2 hours going through both headlights. They identified some new issues that I hadn't previously noticed. They also agreed with the amount of damage that was done to the headlight it was highly unlikely that my installer caused the issue. They deemed the set a total loss and said that it would be almost impossible to salvage the hardware to start over.

This obviously went a long way with paypal in getting some money back. Two separate professionals and paypal all deemed the lights weren't what I paid for. I don't think there is really anything left to say at this point. Not sure if I'm going to move forward with another retrofit or just order a production set and call it a day.

Ordered the new Spyders that are coming out for Gen 2's. I may do a retrofit down the road but I think these will work for now after an HID upgrade to the bulbs. There is a vendor that is getting them early so hopefully they'll ship out soon.
