I have a coworker who has several bee hives scattered around the county. He'll have queens sent overnight to him at work. Some cost $75 each. I just bought a quart of light honey from him. Great stuff. The city gives him a call whenever there is a swarm called in. (Freebie bees for him.) He gets stung a lot. Not much happening now with winter.

 

The reason firehouses have circular stairways is from the days of yore when the engines were pulled by horses. The horses were stabled on the ground floor and figured out how to walk up straight staircases.

Come to think of it I did have a couple incidents in the Anchorage Cal Lab parking lot. I wasn't the only one who looked stupid either. The only way I learned of this was from super mom in a kitchen at a party after a kid touched a green egg grill and was screaming bloody murder. Super mom goes to get a zip lock bag, squirts mustard in it half way, puts kids hand in the bag and walks off like a boss. Kid stopped crying in about a minute.
