I have a 2010 Limited that didn't come with the amber DRL option.
So I purchased a flasher module to convert it to the DRL option but when installed I still do not have the DRL. Just wondering if any of you guys have installed the flasher module on your second generation and if there is anything else that needs to be done to make things work. I have looked on the internet for a wiring diagram of the headlights with DRL and can't find anything. Thanks in advance

That's strange you don't have that option on a limited. I have it on my 08 SR-5. I don't look at my ambers as DRL. I installed leds in my lower panel. I have them, halos, and my ambers for my DRL'S. There's a thread about the ambers as DRL's somewhere on here Prostar.

Thanks for the reply it was a $30 option and about the only one I don't have. I was amazed it didn't have them either. I put in the DRL flasher module but don't know if there is something else I need to do it's been driving me nuts trying to figure it out.

Yeah I'm not a lighting guru by any means, but we have some guy's on here that are. Hopefully they'll chime in and steer ya the right way.

Nothing if you didn't pay the $30 option then you just don't have them. From what I have found it's just a different flasher module.
One would think when you have GPS, sunroof, leather, dual climate control they would have just gave you that option.:annoyed:

That f**ked up. I thought I’d was mandatory by law to have vehicles with drl’s since 1990.
In Canada It was anyway. Dunno about the US

    Not nearly enough room here!
I was offered DRL's on my 2010 and declined:rolleyes: I'm glad my Sales rep talked me into Bluetooth though:thumbsup:. Now that I've seen 'em everywhere, I wouldn't mind having DRL's. I've had the Fog-Light Mod now for several years and the DRL's would be a benefit to me too. Just like Prostar 190, I thought the $50 flasher was all that was needed to activate them:notsure:.

Unfortunately I believe that more is involved to have them. I may have a lead on the fix.

Well update got the DRL working now it requires two relays for it all to work. I took 2 hours tonight to solder it ,heat shrink and liquid electrical tape all the connections.
Now everything works like it should.

If you should get time, tell us how, where and which relays you used.

I can give you the instructions later but it takes 2 universal single pole double throw 30/40 amp Bosch style relays.

I guess if you had DRL factory then the ECU has the relays in it and if not then you have to install them external.

Here's a picture of where I brought the wire heading to the headlights through the firewall.

This is the area where the factory wiring comes through and they have an empty rubber nipple just below the wires.
    IMG_20171222_210719333.jpg

This is a close up of the rubber nipple I made a small slit in the end. Then ran the wire through the slit and once I was done smeared a small dab of RTV silicone on the end to seal the slit.
