Ok everyone here is the pillar I just received from Amayama in Japan.
Handle is a few days behind

 

Here it is installed with an off colored handle… new one coming. You need to cut the bottom flap for a good fit like in the video

 

Good to know and thanks for the follow up. It will be interesting to see if others can replicate your experience. Not sure what happened with the other guy and the drastically different shipping charges.

Where did the handle come from? I thought that there are only two interior trim colors.

 

My order got cancelled on the trim piece. I think I'll try again since you had success. When did you place your order? I placed my order on 2/22/24. Maybe you got that last one.

 

Related, sort of: I bought one from a member, and all went well. What do people intend to do with the old pillar? Recycle it? Stash it for? I also replaced the center console piece with a wireless charger and debating what to do with the original. I have been bad about keeping stuff for all of my vehicles and I’m trying to break the cycle on this truck. LOL

OK. This time they are completing my order. It is awaiting payment. Says it will cost $157 in total for the two parts. Expected delivery date is 4/18 - 6/14. Pillar 39.01, handle 28.95, s&h 89.78. ugh

Found a pair in my local salvage yard for ~$40. Others have also had good luck with salvage yards.

 

What exactly did you search for at Car-Part.com?

 

Search an interior piece that shows the A-pillar and include "interchangeable parts 2007-2013". Then live chat or call the place.
"A-pillar trim" would be ideal, but only shows one at the moment.
"Front door trim panel" shows lots of them.
"Floor shifter assembly" also tends to have a wider view of the front seats in the mix of photos.

Lots of useful information to data min ranging from yards nearby that you may not know about to other parts not traditionally listed but captured in their photos (e.g. tomahawk shifters). If you have a candidate vehicle you're calling about, have the Stock # from the site handy since that isn't typically the actual part, but instead the vehicle #.

 

That's what I did and my handle looks as good as a new one. $50.

 

I'm going to try this route too.

 

My trim piece and handle arrived a few days ago. They were packaged well and match the interior color. Installation was quick and easy. If your like me and don’t have many junk yards nearby, this is a great alternative.

Not everyone's shipping is the same just an FYI. For me it didn't work out

 

I too have checked local yards. Closest pick-n-pull style yards are 35+ minutes away, one way, and charge $2 - $3 entry fee. 15 plus Tundras found and not a usable handle in any of them, but for beige/tan one.

So, I just did the "inquiry" at https://www.amayama.com/en So far, I was quoted $95.35 delivered. Now, wait and see for them to confirm or?

 

That's a decent price for new.

• 1 - 1.5” long 1/4”x20 hex bolt
• 1 - ¼” flat washer
• 1 - extruded U-Type nut ¼”x20 in size

 

I’m keeping my fingers crossed on this. Just submitted my order as well. We’ll see how they respond. Nearest junkyards (open to the public) to me are 2+ hours away so this might be the ticket!

As Black noted above, also needed the following from the hardware store.

• 1 - 1.5” long 1/4”x20 hex bolt
• 1 - ¼” flat washer
• 1 - extruded U-Type nut ¼”x20 in size

Instructions for popping the little oval cover off the old plastic pillar cover without damaging it.

1. The little oval cover covers the bolt that holds the plastic pillar cover in place. Look to the left of the oval plastic cover, you'll see where the edge of the plastic pillar cover fits in under the rubber seal.
2. Pull the plastic pillar cover edge out from the rubber seal, enough so that you can see behind the plastic pillar cover. While looking behind it, look for the tab that holds the little oval cover in.
3. Take a long screw driver and slide it in behind the plastic pillar cover. Use the screw driver to push and pop the little oval cover tab outwards.

 

Can someone tell me if this handle trim grey or beige?
