My 2018 SR5 Crewmax doesn't have the screw holes/plugs on the A-pillar to add this grab handle. Am I the only one, or is this common? If not, how does this grab handle mount to the A-pillar without knowing where the holes need to be drilled? I hope this makes sense to anyone else but me :help:

For those with patience, or more sense than dollars, you can find these at salvage yards. It just may take some time. I had one on order at Sparks and got tired of waiting after 6+ months. Found one in California and had it shipped to me for $50.

They only come in tan or gray, to match the trim, not the upholstery.

I need one of these ASAP on my 21. Every time I get in and try to grab the handle (after 15+ years of using it in my previous Tundra) I realize that is not there and I just bitch, every time. One time I grabbed the air and almost smashed my face on the steering wheel :( Not fun at all.

He's talking about 2018's not having the holes in the A-pillar garnish. That's what 2A Dave appeared to be asking about. No commas were needed or harmed.

Okay, got it, I really do.

I'll go down and check the pillar cover that I removed and check it out.

Found the pillar cover I removed to add the driver's side grab handle (and new pillar cover).

There is one bolt holding it on under a pop-up plastic cover. Removing that bolt allows the removal of the cover and exposing the two mounting holes for the handle.

Right, no one was saying there aren't bolt holes on the A-pillar frame - just that the plastic garnish that comes stock has no grab bar holes.

I think we are all on the same page, I just didn't fully understand the confusion at first, now I do.

No worries, I'm just glad I got the parts and got the handle installed several years ago.

So just to be clear, one of the parts I need is this:
TOYOTA Genuine 62220-0C050-B0 Windshield Pillar Garnish

Then the other is the handle itself, correct? The "pillar garnish" is like $170 alone. I'm not against spending money on improvements, but $170 seems a little high for what it is.

Have you been able to find these? I have searched high and low for a set in Grey an no luck. Sparks has been on back order for an eternity and Toyota Online has the actual grab handle, but says the A-Pillar trim is on backorder until at least august of 24.

Mine looked the same when installed. Easy to ignore when I'm grabbing the handle to climb in..:)

What years Tundra am I looking for, 2014 - 2017? or will 2007 and up also work? I think they dropped the grab handle in 2018.
    Thanks

Got it. Looks like 2007-2018 will work. Thank you search function. :)

IIRC 07-13 is what you want. They were eliminated in 2014

Do a Google search to investigate price. Used ones for $60 and new ones cheaper than spark

I so wish this was the case for me. I have spent hours searching, calling, emailing, and filling out online submission forms to well over 100 salvage yards, and used parts networks, including Alaska! Apparently, but not shocking, there just aren`t many Tundras in salvage yards! I did find one, but it was brown, not grey.

Either that, or my skills just S@ck. I dunno.

The real bummer is, I could have gotten everything I needed a year ago, but I decided to wait due to finances. Bad decision. Live and learn I guess.

I`ve even emailed Sparks to see if they are possibly taking orders. Funny thing is, you can easily get the actual handle brand new...but not the trim....NOWHERE! :pccoffee:

At this point, its not even a price thing for me anymore...I just want it! For my knees!...And I'm now obsessed. I think I`ve gone mad.

I just bought the handle and trim used from a salvage yard. There is a salvage yard in Orlando that has a few of them and he wanted $75 shipped anywhere in the US.

I was going to buy from them but I found one locally which I'm picking up today. They originally wanted $75 but came down to $60 and $15 to ship it.
