Just the ones I mentioned in the first post. I've never had one of these so I'm not sure what features I would even care about other than those. I don't use navigation often because it sucks up a ton of data.

As far as I know they need adapters. Mine wasn’t too difficult to connect.

For those with JBL what harness did you use to connect the stereo? The standard Toyota 87 and up one?

I helped my brother install the Alpine W650 into his passat. Its a nice unit. Speedy. Decent features. I like that its very small in size and also the ability to add the Alpine amp to it if the internal amp is not enough for your speakers. Only thing I don't like is the touch buttons. I would rather have physical buttons. I like that some of the Sony units that still have the volume control knob on them even though it makes for a slightly smaller screen.

I went with the Atoto A6 Pro. It has been amazing for a $260 HU. It runs android so I hotspot my phone and use it for everything (we all know google maps is the only GPS to use and this comes preloaded with it!). They have a good backup camera, OBDII monitor and I am looking to buy their "TPMS" sensors that are essentially just caps that report pressure.

You can download apps just like a phone. They also sell a DVR camera if you're into recording your drives. USB inputs/SD card storage. Just a ton of features, super cheap and for a brand I never heard of prior to my search I am really happy with going this route. Check out their site and all the options they have. They do have a model that's right at $200 but I balled out for the top of the line version at $260 haha

I bought an ATOT0 A6 Pro Android 9.0 cause I want to do the Bluetooth OBD2 casting to the HU with Torque Pro as well as running different navigation apps...but then decided I'm not ready to give up my CD player yet (Atoto has no CD player), so I sent it back and got this for $299 on Amazon.

    https://xtrons.com/double-din-android-9-0-hexa-core-4gb-ram-64gb-rom-tq109p

10.1 inch screen, gps, multiple camera inputs, wifi,CD and DVD (movies for kids!) etc etc...Not sure how the big external screen will look, but I'll post pics after I install it. It came a few days ago, and I have to say, the packaging and feel in hand are VERY high quality, much better than I expected (better than the Atoto, which was pretty good) Right up there with high $ Kenwoods I've had before.

Does the stock radio cover eliminate the need for using a Metra or other dash install kit? I'll be installing a Double DIN Radio.

you got a smoking deal on that then. I'll have to check their website but Crutchfield is one of the few companies I'm loyal to because of their best in class customer service.

Yea, I really wish Crutchfield would carry HUs that run Android...if they did, I would have bought from them and paid their 20% premium over a place like Amazon. Their customer service is worth it.

Yes. Best Buy went up on their price right after. The day before my install they emailed me and said they may not have it in until after the new year, if at all, and cancelled my install appoitnment. Went to the store. Pulled a box containing the unit off the shelf. Found the store manager. Said "I got this email....." So I took it home with me and they "un" cancelled my appointment. I don't know if it was bait and switch or an honest computer glitch..but it does seem to be a nice unit and I gather the size makes it easier to install.

The wants are all easy, the questions would be best asked to Crutchfield or an installer, that is not my area of expertise. But my truck had JBL and I have all of your wants.

Not at all. That's what this thread is for.

@Bubbles question for you since you mentioned wireless. I see that most of the units I'm looking at only have a USB port in the back of the unit. Do most people just run a short USB through the adjacent air vent? I'm wondering what features are lost if I don't plug in(other than charging).

You can run a wire out the bottom of the dash or through the console fairly easily.

I find the best bang for the buck buying outgoing Pioneer models at a discount. I do it every few years.

Yeah you can run a cable anywhere really. Wireless is neat but does exponentially increase cost.

Does it have to be plugged in to get car play/android auto to work?

These won’t fit in 1st gens.

Unless you buy one capable of wireless, yes.

My USB was run out through a cigarette lighter outlet. I have two up front and one in the console as well as one behind the console so I did not mess the lost outlet.
