Order placed for heavy leaf pack. Can’t wait to see how much ride control I get from these! Stoked

Didn't see this one answered. I like the idea of adding height without increasing the spring rate. My truck isn't going to be carrying a heavy bumper or winch.

Emailed dobinson directly today. Stated shipment has docked in port. Awaiting to clear customs. Should be shipping out next week.

I just added a bumper and winch, so now I'm looking at suspension because my girl is sagging. Looking at the Dobinsons 2.5 lift with heavy springs. Should I get the heavy leaf pack as well? I do have a RTT on the back. Any cons to getting it?

I’m getting the heavy leaf pack for a four wheel camper. Thinking I’ll be a good bit more weight than you. It may ride rough for you With just a RTT day to day, depending on your other gear. I will hopefully be able to update on ride and load support from the heavy leaf pack in a couple of weeks. My camper weighs close to 1k pounds.

I don't want to wait a couple weeks get it now lol
On Dobinsons direct they say if you constantly carry 200lb or more to get the heavier weight. Rtt is about 140 and the weight of the rack. I daily the truck with just the rack and tent.

It will pay off to at least chat with a dealer about your setup. Don’t want you to end up with too much lift or overly stiff ride. Good luck!

Heavy would be too much for just a RTT

200 lbs seems awfully light to need “heavy springs.”

They don’t have the Tundra In Australia so they don’t have as much on the ground testing as the Tacoma, but the Tundra heavy leaf springs are rated less than the Tacoma iirc.
This is my guess on the confusing ratings and lift heights for the Tundra.

MainlineOverland and Dobinsons were quick to get my springs on the way. They are being delivered today and tomorrow. Fair warning to all Dobinsons requires adult signature for their ups delivery. So I’ll have to get lucky to be here when ups gets here, and may eventually have to pick them up from my local hub. It’s a solid drive on the interstate away. I’d prefer no sign or maybe allow electronic release, no one is gonna steal leaf springs off my front porch
    Install day next Thursday.

Was going to pull trigger on 2.25 inch quick ride kit with either spaced block or coach builder shackle instead of 6112’s but should I be concerned with bed bounce and jittery ride that some people were composing about running OEM leaf springs and shackles.
    any feed back is appreciated.

I personally havn’t noticed anymore of a “bed bounce or jittery ride” that wasnt already there. I have a block in the back also, and im very content with how it rides. I mean it is a truck after all, and im happy with it riding like one.

I work at the hospital and didn’t want to leave my wife with this heavy order at her workplace. I’ll be home the next delivery window which is Tuesday.

Because it was a sign for package it could not be re-routed to another location. Thankfully I have an amazing neighbor who went over to my house and waited to sign for them. UPS guy said it made his day my neighbor helped him unload them! Made my day he signed for them! 967A6B54-697D-489D-BCB0-B26B696C0B05.jpg

And darn, don’t see the bushing kit. Email sent to MLO. Planning on a Thursday install, will be impressed with customer service if I get it by then.

John from MLO NH is getting a set of bushings overnighted from their shop. Dobinsons is out of stock on these so they sent me on-hand inventory. I am happy with the prompt CS and communication.

CC638813-B16E-4252-B1E8-DBE478D07E12.jpg Feels perfect now. Heads up I may have gotten the last Tundra bushings in the US for now! These heavies are made for loaded down applications. Front and rear seem to have balanced handling. May still look for a sway bar to plant the rear, but definitely not necessary. Want to test her out tomorrow and Saturday on a camping/wheeling trip with @BashFab. Hopefully we can work something out to get out there past the first camping spot!

Edited the main post, but I have the travel/camp fever and my wife and I are unfortunately amicably separating (not Truck or travel related) So I’m gonna use it more than I originally intentioned :/

Sorry to hear that. Truck looks great! It'll make a fine "mobile" home for the time being. Good luck in your future endeavors & I hope things pan out in your favor.
