I think those wheels and tires are perfect with the MGM paint! Looks like it already settled quite a bit in that last pic.

That's a great photo op in front of the garage.

I just don't know about those 778 springs...they seem to be too long for this application and look like they'll bind before the shock is fully compressed.

I have done an annoying amount of homework, and asking everyone I possibly could about this. I think the 778 springs, with the twin tubes at least, has been okay, but does yeild 3" after settling, unlike the advertised 2.5".

And it definitely does need time to settle in, especially with the brand new top hats.

So far, the 2 miles drive from the shop to the house, was fantastic. A little tire rubbing which I'll solve tomorrow, but honestly, zero odd pops, smooth, and I didn't feel any binding issues.

Also thanks! I love the wheels, and that photo op in front of the shop was fun. It was getting just a touch too dark outside, but still had to do it.

Took a few spins around my father's property, about 10 acres of which are open field, and had some fun before I took it in for an alignment this afternoon. I also figured some good bumps would help kick start to settle in the suspension.

I am 100% in love. They aren't Kings, and bigger hits are obviously noticable, but holy crap is this a huge step up from OEM. It felt surprisingly smooth and controlled over nastier spots. And I'm really happy with on-road response right now as well. Obviously firmer overall, but in all the right ways. I feels like a truck now and not a floaty minivan.

Just a small update on the twin tubes with 778 springs.

I took some measurements this evening. With ~100 miles on the suspension so far, the fronts have settled to about 25 3/4" from hub center to bottom of fender, and about 27" in the rear.

Reminder, I do have 2 shims on the driver side, and 1 shim on the passenger side. I'm expecting them to settle just a bit more, and it'll be exactly what I expected, at 3.5" of lift in the front.

The rear has the regular load springs (4 + 2 overload), and a 1" lift shackle. So it looks like I'm netting around 3" of total lift in the rear which. I do still have a tool box in the rear with some stuff in it, and all of my stock suspension in the back too. That alone would have made my old springs sag lol.

I'm still extremely happy with it so far. On the highway it is great. A bit more firm, but really great. I also have E load mud terrains so that has an effect too. Speaking of which, those Maxxis Razr MT's are magic.....they barely hum at all. It's absolutely amazing. Light years ahead of the old BFG KM1 I had back in the day.

Anybody running the 2.25” ims front with stock rear and 2” shackles? I’m planning on that.

Im installing the 2.25 fronts tomorrow and plan on doing a 1.5 inch shackle in the back with stock springs.

Sitting at about 3 inches of lift up front right now, that’s without the bumper, winch, and second battery in. So hopefully when all that weight is in and it’s settled a bit I’ll be closer to the 2-2.25 inches of lift I wanted.

Bumper and winch go on in a few weeks.

Didn’t get a chance to drive much but definitely more firm

Dobinson front IMS with 2.25 c59-610 coils that are rated for bumper and winch.

Dobinson rear IMS with toytec shackles on lower setting (1 inch of lift)

So about 3" of lift on 2.25" coils? How is the ride?

Yea sorry edited the post it quadruple posted my images

Only about 10 miles so far but it’s definitely firmer. Brake dip is gone, no more body roll, no more cadillacing on bumps

Once the bumper goes on it’ll be time for new shoes with 35s or 315/70/17s

Ah yes it’s the second one that was previously labeled as ‘stock’ setting here that was later corrected. It was after I had ordered them assembled so I left it.

So I think if you get these and put them on the lowest setting you’d be right at 2.4-2.5 inches of lift.

Yeah 2nd clip setting is what is keeping your ride height high. I unfortunately found this out the hard way which is why I have mine up for sale. I was told by Dobinsons I could get a 2" lift with 2.5" coil on the lowest setting. I got 3" and it never went down

Yea I’ve got about 350 extra pounds going on the front end soon so I’m thinking that’ll push it down a bit.

If there was a way to get to the lower clip without a whole reinstall I’d do it because I only wanted 2 inches approximately.

I’ll just wait and play it by ear after the weight is on

I think it could be done with some heavy duty ratchet straps. You only need to compress the coils maybe 1/2". The clips are pain in the ass to move though even off the truck.

Ok well if it’s still at 3 inches after setting and adding a bumper and winch I may try that

So after reading though 25 pages, the consensus is IMS shocks will work on the bottom clip using 610 or 778 springs to get 2-2.75” of lift? The twin tube is safe no matter what it seems. Usually running down some pretty rough (rocky, and heavily rippled) logging roads, with an atv in the bed, or 2 in a trailer. Would like the extra security of the IMS even if I know I won’t be using the full capabilities.
