Did you have to clearance the lower control arm? The lower shock mount looks like a TIGHT fit.

Im sure they’ll handle it. Running 4.5 inches of lift is just too much. I have .5 inches of rake, and the rear is lifted 2.5 inches...

    Yep, that's true.

Other guys on this forum (different thread) have been running 780's with 3" of lift (photo attached), but newbies like some here are measuring as soon as the parts are installed and not settled yet...

Yeah, if only you or your shop checked in the parts prior to installation, you'd have an answer to that. What do the tags on the coil springs say??

I doubt a coil spring would settle 1.5 inches. Getting argumentative with a customer isn’t a good look.

Not likely. Ive ran OME coils in the past multiple times and while I have seen settling, its typically ~.5". It was enough that there was a whole thread about it on Tacomaworld. 1.5" sounds very unlikely.

780lb is a lot though, do you know the coil length?

I supposedly got the 780 part number which is a 662lb spring.

Oh, my mistake. Hmmm, I do remember reading some posts though about the coils providing more than advertised.

@crikeymike are Dobinsons and OME related at all? The designs, parts, etc appear to be very similar.

The only relation is they're all from Australia. That's it.

TJM, Ironman, and other aussie brands all offer very similar products to each other. Kind of like how with Jeeps here in the USA, Rubicon Express, Rancho, ProComp, etc, etc, all offer similar style suspensions to each other.

Maybe the lowest setting on the IMS is taller than the height of the spring seat on the standard Dobinson front struts. Take a measurement from the center of the lower strut mount bolt to the lower spring seat, I can compare that to my standard Dobinsons front struts. I had some issues at first and @crikeymike was great to deal with, I feel his frustration though Tundra owners do seem to complain more than other Toyota owners. I finally settled on the 2.25" springs and I'm very pleased with them.

    Not enough....
Yeah I just called Main Line and swapped out for the 778 coils, which they had no problem doing luckily. Super nice guys over there.

Maybe the 780s would work just fine for me, but I don't have the time to be doing this twice. If I feel like I need a tad more lift I'll throw a shim or two in there. If they actually yield 3" that will be just fine. I just want to fit my 285/75r18s and I'll be happy.

That would be pretty sick. I'm sure someone has tried it, probably just hard to get the square seals to seal. haha

I installed the IMS/778 coils today. Went for 20 minute test drive trying to hit every dip, railroad crossing and dirt road I could find. The ride was firm compared to my SR5 shocks but the IMS really soaked up the big bumps and I haven't been able to bottom the fronts out yet. I'm currently at about 2.75" of lift but I only eyeball aligned it until I'm sure the front has settled completely. When I first put the truck on the ground I was at about 4" of lift.

Your truck must have really low miles.
What setting did you put the springs at?

@crikeymike with the guys who are running 780s and having much higher #s, I am getting scared to install them now. I cannot afford to install ,remove, and install again if the 780s are too tall. Can you exchange them for me? I haven't opened the box the coils are in, the main box is trashed from shipping, just like others I've read on here
