I agree - I fill up at odd hours to skip the lines.

Also, this may be bunk as well, but I heard when I was younger it's best to fill up when it's coolest out. vapors will be most dense and you will get more bang for your buck... though i imagine it's marginal gains (depending on the temperature swing i'm sure.

A few words on pricing: I hear Wednesdays are usually the cheapest (I dont watch gas prices enough to determine if this is true or false)... Avoid filling up around holiday weekends. Not sure about Costco, but I've seen the Chevron station on the corner jacks up prices 10 cents or so around big travel weekends. That's probably common knowledge thought.

I fill costco gas regularly, but i still think chevron and shell gas is "better". No scientific basis, just my butt dyno. I do run techron fuel injector cleaner every so often too for peace of mind.

i use costco gas on all my vehicles including a daily Rav4 and a modded M3. No issues on either and I save a pretty penny. I do use Shell or Chevron from time to time in the M3 just to spice it up though. Never noticed any differences.

Iv been filling up at Costco since I bought my truck. My local costco labels their fuel top tier. So far no issues. I have family with Toyota’s that have over 200k miles and have always filled up there as well.

Curious, not near a Costco but do you need a membership to get their gas?

    Yes

Here in TX at least... I imagine it's the same nation wide.

You have to slide your membership card before you're payment card (if using the "Costco" branded credit card you just slide one card then push the "use this card as payment too" button).

Is it true you still have to use a debit card to buy gas as Costco? I know at some point in the past I couldn’t use my CC with high gas cash back % because Costco required debit.

I don’t get gas at Costco because of the lines around here. I don’t have the luxury of strategically aligning me needing/getting gas with the time of the day, etc. Those lines can be just insane. I’ll gladly pay 30 cents more per gallon than sit there lol.

But like others have clarified by now, it is top tier.

It was debit or Amex. But who uses Amex?? lol

They have a deal with Visa now, so you can use debit or Visa... my debit card with the master card emblem doesn’t work...

I’m not saying yours won’t... but mine doesn’t lol

Debit transactions are run through a different system I believe. Shouldn’t matter what the credit side of the card is as long as you run it as debit... may just be my actual physical card.
