Nice rig, I dig your rims! Looking forward to pics of future mods regardless of how they happen. Picking up details from here regarding how others have efficiently completed the color match changes should be helpful.

    Function before sparkle.
Be aware that power folding regular mirrors are very expensive to purchase from a dealer. They are worth much more than tow mirrors new. So you are in a good position on a sale or trade. Do that in the Marketplace once you hit 50 posts.

Welcome to the forum and that's a great looking truck.... I am actually one of the few that found someone locally with an SR5 that wanted chrome mirror caps and door handles, so we met up in the Lowes parking lot and swapped in about 10 mins. Just posted the trade offer on the AOT Facebook and had the arrangement set up within a day. As far as the grill and bumper, you might as well pony up and order what you want.

FWIW I think the new ('20+) chrome door handles are pretty nice looking with the hint of body color on them. If I were wanting to rid them of the chrome, I would contact TVD Vinyl and see if he can do a black or color matched overlay on the chrome part.

See, I knew that dreams come true... I'll find my guy lol.

Yeah I'm realizing I'm probably gonna have to wrap my grill and bumper. I found a post about the vinyl at colormatch .c om, but no one commented about how the Cement color worked out. These TVD guys do a good job?

TVD doesn’t install the vinyl, just sell it. Check out their website here:
    https://tvdvinyldecals.com/

I have some of their stuff, it’s good quality. Haven’t tried anything on the door handles so I can’t speak to that.

I highly recommend TVD. As far as wrapping the grill and bumper, you shouldn't waste your time or money. I haven't read about anyone who has had good long lasting results. Just order color matched from Sparks Parts using the TundraDude discount code or take to a body shop to have them prepped and painted properly. Get ready to spend about $1000 either way.

Bumpershellz is also working on a grille overlay that you will put on top of the chrome.

I ended up spray bed liner on mine and am waiting for black bumpershellz bumper caps to arrive in Canada so I can finish off the dechroming procedure for mine

I was thinking about doing that, but I've only seen one picture of a Cement colored truck with a black grill, surround (or whatever you call it) and the hood thingy, and it looked weird to me... Otherwise I'd be all for doing that, especially for the durability.

Maybe I'll do it to the grill, but get the rest wrapped around it.

With Bumpershellz, they will be doing color matched grilles. The caps you can already order in colors or get painted locally

I wanted a Black & Blue theme...plus I'm cheap. Some work with black and other don't. The one you posted may look better if the caps and grille insert were also black, instead of color match and chrome

I'm not finding the hood or grill surround pieces on that website. And I just realized that I don't know why I said I wanted to wrap my grill... I just meant the surrounding piece and the hood bulge

To me it's more of a rugged off-road look vs refined color match pavement driven

Personally, I like it. Especially if all other chrome is gone (emblems, handled, wheels, etc).

With your rims and tires, a blacked out theme would look good. But in the end, everyone will like something different than someone else. Make it how you want it, even if it involves chrome.

Bottom line, it's still a Tundra so better than all the other trucks on the road that aren't

There are basically two groups when it comes to chrome. Those of us who prefer it, and the great heathen unwashed. :crapstorm: I traded my black door handle for chrome shortly after buying the truck, added rear chrome door handles later (it's a double cab), and would trade my black grill for chrome in a heartbeat.

Welcome from Texas, and as the Romans were fond of saying: "Nil illegitimi carborundum."

It's all good my man. I don't take offense to much these days. My personal life experience has taught me that there's no point in letting strangers upset you, or get to you. I've become much happier and less reactive to situations when I made the decision to just let people be people. We all have good days and bad days, dick moments and good moments. I'd rather just kill you with kindness and hope we can get along. But if we can't, it makes no difference to me! lol.

But I prefer to make friends over enemies =)

And now we're besties, so that's what you get =D Ha!

I'll buy you a nice glass of whiskey if you ever come out to Portland. We can make fun of all the silly little liberals running around breaking shit cause they're so noble and just.

Computer read out, but I'm about to finish up my first full tank of gas, so I'll be doing some math... but it's lookin so far like I might even be LESS than that. Such a bummer.

    I might need to regear

I don't understand why the dealership doesn't re-gear when they install lifts and tires like this. It makes no sense to me.
