Hmm, okay. This makes me wonder if I should look at a larger diameter tip, since my stock pipe is already 3". Granted your 3" "bell" is 12" long vs my 4" long bell. Still, questions remain.

On the flip side, there is a point at which a larger diameter tip will begin to look ridiculous. I don't know where that point might be, though. Maybe I should swing into some local exhaust place and see what I can learn.

Keep it south of the 5 gallon diesel bucket exhaust tip. 4" is plenty, at least that's what I tell my wife.

There's definitely differences in the tips with baffles helped eliminate an odd resonance on the old mans supercharged FJ.

Being I already have an almost full can of it, that may be the way to go.
Just wasn't sure if it would stick to chrome.

All I really wanted was the same tip I have in black, but I can only find longer and shorter ones..

I'll look into it gents, thank you for the input..

I had a muffler shop install it around 8 years ago.
Summit has quite a few options..

Summit Racing | Aftermarket Parts & Accessories, Performance Parts, OEM Auto Parts

    A couple others..

    Exhaust Tips (wesdonautomotive.com)

I painted that chrome one black when I covered my bumper ends.
    It ain't lookin' so good.
I'll probably have to buy another one that will hold up better.

Many thanks for the links! I had already looked through Jegs and Summit, but I was uncertain if tip inlet size went by ID or OD of the tailpipe. I'm assuming ID, otherwise nobody has anything in the proper size.

My tailpipe is currently cut 18" short, and aims somewhat toward the bumper end, with 32" between the end of the pipe and the rear of the bumper. So, more than plenty of room for whatever I want to weld onto it.
