    I have RWD, don't plan to Off road. CA barely rains. Might get water splash from wet ground. Still a good idea to do this mod?

    It's pouring right now in NorCal. I'm going to go drive around later and look for somewhere to test my rear diff mod. :) For $20 and 30 minutes, why not? One day you might need it.

    It's good insurance. It's technically not only for "off-roading", but in flash flood where waters will be at high level, or even when towing a boat/jet ski and docking them deep in.
    Overall a very easy mod to do.
    Better safe than sorry ya know?

    Just completed the breather mod, thanks for suggestion and advice! 10' was just about perfect, with about 2 feet slack. Total cost:
    $10 for Toyota Union
    $15 for 10' 5/16 tubing
    $3 for clamps

    I'm getting ready to do this mod. Quick question, as I was thinking about where the vent is relocating to. Do you think it would be a good idea to have the end of the hose turned down, as in a upside down U? Possibly helping with any condensation that builds up and it will drain back out.

    Funny I just removed the breather from the diff and it exhaled quite a bit of air. I get why because of it heating up but I thought it would also breathe in air as it cooled down. So basically this is just a one-way valve if it is working correctly. So in a perfect world you wouldn't need this mod because it wouldn't take a drink of air because of the one-way valve. So I'm assuming we are just moving this just in case the valve doesn't work properly? And also I'm thinking if this is just a one-way valve wouldn't it suck water in through the axle tubes anyways?

    2 weekends with a helper and a good bottle!
