Yes sir. 5kw. Might be a little overkill for T2S, but I’m hoping to get a RTT similar to yours and doing the camping/skiing things next winter in mammoth/Tahoe. Already got a case to put it in and mount everything up. Some pretty elaborate builds on YouTube for these things.. you can go nuts.

Someone’s more than welcome to pitch their tent next to mine and can split heat. Might have to deal with my snoring, so you won’t be sleeping. Noise or cold.. pick your poison.

It’s probably the same size as mine, that’s half as tall and twice as wide………

definitely lots of cool case builds out there. Enjoy the heat!

Also @FrenchToasty did you design/fabricate your own swingout? if so what should be the tubing specs for the swingout if doing one side for a 35ish tire and 25lb table.. any thoughts

So I was also helping my sister move and forgot to latch the other side, the swing out flew open!!!! Snapped the pin on the lock out, and broke the handle on the gusset, I had another lock out barrel assembly already, so I just swapped it out and back to new!

    I did build it myself.
I’d have to look in the garage but I think I used 2x3 3/16 tube for the main, and then 2x2……… maybe 3/16 tube for the up rights and braces and like 10 gauge for the top rail
It ends up being a lot of weight on the pivot point; so whatever you weld that bracket to, needs to be strong in multiple directions, i gusseted the shit out of my bumper in that corner inside(should have just boxed the bumper)
I will say, it’s held up to the boys being on it fully open…….

If you can, maybe think of doing dual swing outs? I could have made mine shorter, and done duals but I just wanted it to be simple

Awesome! Thanks for the specs. That’s what I had in mind.

Yeah, dual would be ideal but I think I’m going to have to go one at a time to keep the old lady happy. Don’t think I could do a single piece across like yours as I park in some pretty shallow parking spots and need to be able to get in/out of the bed pretty regularly because of the fridge. Have a funny feeling that I might be opening the tonneau with the key to toss my groceries in rather than dropping the tailgate. We will see

Definitely feel free to tag me while your going thru it. I’m neither of those things either, but I made it work.

Sorry for the cobwebs, but that was some of the gussets it did underneath inside the bumper for more strength.

Started packing for the trip. Going to be here before we know it.

Going to need to attach a line from the case to the lid to prevent it from completely falling over. Any ideas? Thinking a steel fishing leader might be a good option. Should be strong enough and the barrel swivels should prevent it from getting rats nested.

Was loading up the box with the truck locked. The top flopped over and slammed on the prinsu setting off the alarm. Don’t think I’ve sprinted that fast in a long time; surprised I didn’t pull my hammie.

Anyway, was able to fit quite a bit in there. Camplux, two winch dampeners, soft shackle, morrflate, and rockpals solar panel (under morrflate).E7A059C6-E1D2-401F-9773-998817E29736.jpg

One of the big items on my to-do list was figure out how I was going to get a full size spare to ride along with me. I know bigghertz Jason fit a 35 with the coachbuilder shackles but I don’t have the time to mess around with that, unfortunately. Rear bumper and swingout will be a summertime project so need something in the meantime.

Wasn’t about to lift a 35” tire onto the roof, so I whipped this together real quick. Have a y-strap coming in from polyperformance. Hopefully will serve its purpose. Since these photos have been taken I’ve added a couple more 2x4 underneath for support. Still need to add on the rear wall/door thing with hinge/latch. Also, it’s going to be a tight squeeze in there with a 35x12.5. Might have to air the spare down a bit.

most important question is do I paint it black or put some epoxy on it and leave it 2x4 pine

I’ll put it midway down the list and see if I get to it. Come to think of it; parents are coming into town this week and it’s supposed to warm up. Might just throw a paint roller in my dads hand..
