I am having trouble wiring a 4 wire OEM style switch to a 2 wire harness. There is a red and black coming from the harness. I wired red to red1 on switch. Green to 12v constant( dome lights) with an add a fuse. Black on switch to black on wiring harness. The lights on the switch seem to be working correctly (wording lit up, than when switch is pushed both wording and image are lit)but it is not activating the relay. The lights will work with a toggle switch. Is it possible the switch is bad?

You will still need a relay. The switch will illuminate dimmed when parking/headlights are on but illuminate brighter when it's on.

I have a relay in the loop, it is just not activating with this switch. It works fine with a toggle switch.

Did you use an existing relay In The truck or one that was in a provided harness?
