A friend of mine keeps 2k cash hidden in his vehicle for two reasons:
    1) in case of emergency as stated above
    2) if he ever sees a toy on the side of the road (boat, ATV, mower, etc) that he likes, it gives him just enough to put in a quality lowball offer. Cash talks

    A timely story…

My inlaws and family have a gathering once a year. Twelve people. We were all on the road to the house that was rented for the weekend when the owners informed us the power was out.

The house is on an island and we were in the ferry line already, so pot committed. Got to the island and most of the island is without power. Everything just shut down. The house we rented had one aim-a-flame and no candles.

Thankfully the nearest grocery store had a big generator, enough to run the store lights and credit card. But I had cash in case they didn’t.

Bought headlamps for the kids and a crapton of various candles. And a case of beer. B7169F7E-C2C2-47C5-8567-6F2DE6C4CF7A.jpg
Was glad to have the cash ready. Otherwise we’d have been talking in the dark
