I will agree completely with @17TundraDCEd said. My vehicle is the family weekender and road tripper, so the objective for any aftermarket exhaust for me was something with only a little more growl.

mind you, when you get on it, it comes right to life and it’s significantly louder then the stock system.

once you hit a cruising speed, and OD hits, it’s essentially an OEM muffler.

I installed the 10" system last winter without the resonator and immediately regretted not installing the resonator or buying the 12". It was a lot louder than stock and the drone was loud and irritating at low RPMs and at highway speed. But I kept putting off installing the resonator to see if I felt different later. I'm resistant to change.

I didn't expect it, but the sound really grew on me. I left the resonator off after asking the guy here with the youtube channel that tows a boat. He said he didn't see a need for the resonator and was getting rid of his. That sounded reasonable, but my plan was to install the resonator once I realized towing without it was obnoxious.

It wasn't obnoxious. I've towed about 1500 miles this summer and I'm not installing the resonator. I don't want it to quiet down the aggressive rumble and I'm willing to deal with the drone. I'm not really interested in adding Keith's plate so I can take the resonator on and off. I'm pretty sure the 10" will get too quiet with the resonator.

The 10" system ended up being the sweet spot for me. If it ever gets too loud, I'll put the resonator on and quiet it down. But right now, it's got a V8 rumble that's pretty awesome. Without the resonator though, it is hard to talk on the phone if you're in the drone zones. And early morning starts at the campground are not appreciated. But I can deal with those issues for the rumble.

Glad you are liking the 10". Don't forget, we offer that incredible LIFETIME SOUND GUARANTEE and LIFETIME SS PRODUCT WARRANTY. So if you ever want to change it for the 12", just let us know and we will do the exchange. You send us the old used system and a pretty new one goes out to you!!!

    Thanks, Shawna, DDI

This has got to be the hottest sale of the summer! With that being said I’ve been wanting to get a system for so long but I would definitely like a bit of guidance on it first. I park my tundra in an apartment garage (picture for reference) and right above sit 2 units. Would the 8” be a little TOO loud for this area? If so which one would you recommend? I’d like to have that extra power for backroads/off road trips. Thank you much!

I’m ordering the 8" next week. Need it ASAP!! I’m guessing it takes like 2 hours to make and a day to ship from CA? :spending::spending::spending:
Everyone interested jump on this thread so we can all get the group discount from a company that obviously cares about this community. I talked with Keith for about 10 min today. This guy knows his stuff and I’m not going to bother looking elsewhere.

    This is Keith

In an apartment building, the 8” shouldn’t be a problem at all. It’s not that it’s really loud or anything. But you’ll definitely hear start ups. Apartment buildings have a lot more insulation than just a house does.

    Thanks!!!

    20x5

we keep modest with the v6. They’re actually louder than a v8 since a cylinder fires into the exhaust system every 135* Rather than every 90* like a v8. With the exhaust pulses spread put so much further there’s less pressure. Pressure =. Quiet.

Sweet. I'll see if there are any videos posted anywhere. I'm running the 8" without resonator on my truck and I love how it sounds especially when I'm towing. I just bought the oldest kid a 2006 4Runner and towed it home and it rumbled as I was smiling the whole time. I love making noise. :D

It’s supposed to end Saturday , but we won’t shut down something with good momentum. We will hit 30 and we have enough material on hand to build substantially more than that!!!!

We were at 14 systems this morning. That already puts us up to 15%. I haven’t been in the office all day, I usually work remotely during the day. But I know I’ve seen a few come thru the website.

we will for sure hit 20% off guys. Anybody on the fence, jump on this:)

I’m looking for a bump in towing power and eradicating the drone. I don’t want any louder than my stock TRD, so I’m leaning towards a 12” now. At some point ya just gotta jump.

Still pondering. Still negotiating with the Home CFO. Trying to guess what I can resell the TRD exhaust for to make back some of the cash…

when the decision has been made, for sure, put the trd system up for sale. Make the sale contingent upon getting the buyers stock exhaust. Then you get the tailpipe that you’ll need for the 12”.

I typically lost used parts for 2/3 to 1/2 of what they cost new.
