I would just like to say, that exhaust hangers can officially f%&^ right off.

That being said, it took me a little over an hour to get the new 8" system installed without resi. 45 minutes of that was getting the old system out (fighting the hangers...).

Ooooooooh boy, that first start up! I am loving the 8" without resi so far. I do notice a tiny bit of done around 60, but if I can get up to my normal cruising speed of 70, it seems to disappear. So far very happy with it.

Welcome! I believe this group buy closed. Keith is awesome to deal with and obviously his products rock. I thought there was some folks selling some BA stuff in classifieds. Might be worth a look.

I believe he's still running a special of $75 off and free shipping until Halloween. You should give him a call and see. (Plus $50 off for LEO, Military, etc.)

Update: I was able to detect the slightest amount of drone today during an extended trip, it's minimal but enough to convince me that I should install the Helmholtz someday soon.

Just an update for some still waiting on a exhaust.
I spoke with Keith this morning (great dude) and they had a minor hiccup with some staff being ill BUT they are back up and hustling. Should see delivery notices on Monday.

Just installed the 10". Wife didn't even notice until I put the back window down. Perfect.

Btw, one of these takes care of the resonator hole like you're drilling into balsa wood. No need to remove the tail pipe.

Quick update, after the 8” Bam purchase and install I was a bit concerned that it was not loud enough and I should of went with the 6” system. However with driving and breaking “60 miles or so” in my new system, I believe the sound has gotten stronger and is more like what I was looking for. Has anyone else noticed this?

Just installed my 8 in this morning, super easy job minus Fed Ex bent one of the hangers. I put a bottle jack in between the two and it straightened right back. I love this exhaust, Ill give it a few days before I decide to install the resonator.

Got mine on Thursday, but the stupid cold front came in so yesterday right after work I put in my new system. Man, after teaching any passerbys some new words during the hanger part, the first start up was perfect! I could not be happier with the sound, and my 13 year old is even impressed. @dirtydeeds Keith is AWESOME

Dish soap is your friend when pulling hangers out of the rubber bushings. Push them in as far as you can and slather dish soap on the hanger. They will slip right out. Dish soap will dry out and no longer be slippery later.

I see that lots of buyers are struggling with the exhast hanger bushing, and I thought I'd chime in. You can buy an tool that is specifically for the exhaust bushing. I ordered one when I put a Nameless catback on my WRX. It was absolutely worth every penny for the one time use. Now I see that I get to use it again, and it's definitely money well spent. Link below was just from a quick google search for "exhaust bushing removal tool"

I had no problem removing the old muffler from the hangers, but putting the new BAMuffer in place caused me to curse a bit.

If you're a little creative you can use the tool to install as well. Just gotta use even pressure. Still easier than trying to do it by hand.

Following the instructions found on the BA video I went ahead and installed the Helmholtz resonator this morning... now I have what sounds like a booming drone when the RPMs drop at hwy speed in overdrive. It kind of goes away in 5th gear, but it's very noticeable in 6th... is there a break-in period for this thing?

On the plus side, the truck feels 1000 lbs lighter... giddyup!

Do you have a picture of where you installed the resonator? If I remember, you have a shortened tailpipe because of the lowered rear.

I’m not an expert. Hopefully Keith will chime in.

But I remember reading that the resonator should be installed at the midpoint between the muffler outlet and end of tailpipe. The spot you have it is where we all install it with a full tailpipe, because that is close to midpoint. Since you are shortened, I wonder if the location needs to be changed (which would be hard) or maybe the length of the resonator needs to be different. Or maybe it’s bouncing off the ground since the tailpipe is pointing at the ground.

    Just thinking out loud.

Good luck. It will get figured out.

I messaged Keith with details and the same picture... There was no mention of an alternate installation location, and there are all sorts of things taking up space in front of the axle making that an impossibility. Roughly 18" of tail-pipe was removed.

So I have a weekend with the 10" and resonator under my belt. I have to say that what's most impressive about this system is not the sound it does make, but rather the sound that it doesn't.

Don't get me wrong, the sound Keith has created is awesome, night and day compared to everything I hear out there. But what makes all the difference is that it's so tame when you want it to be.

I've read multiple times that the 10" is just a tad more sound than stock. I'd say it's way more than that, but people wouldn't be surprised if you told them it was stock.

    Great job @dirtydeeds

After this comment I am going to hold off on commenting about drone until I have a few hundred miles under my belt, because it may be the exhaust itself that I am hearing. I experience the sound at different sustained speeds & rpm ranges, but it's not a full time occurrence, and sometimes I don't hear anything.

@Rex Kramer has a unique system and unique truck. Just posting to point thst our so as to not confuse anybody.

on a typical truck a helmholtz resonator removes most/all of the drone our truck have.

the situation on Rex’s truck is unique and I’ve never seen any t happen like this before.

anybody with any questions please give a call. 760-877-4234

Yes, and I hope my one of a kind set-up does not confuse anyone - my situation is far from typical.
