I am 32 with two kids (3 and 1), no towing, and a wife who is unenthusiastic about loud cab noise. I went with 8in with resonator. im confident that unless i punch it my wife wont really notice the difference. Im not even going to tell her when i do it, then suprise her with the windows down getting on the freeway.

I also have a 10" type r running at like 1000 watts.....kids love it. lol

Any reason why you guys went with 12" instead of 10"? I spoke to Keith and he said incab on both of these systems are about the same but it's just a little louder outside with 10"

I park in my garage which is right under the kids room. Keith recommended the 12 so I don’t wake them up when I start the truck in the mornings.

Okay guys - sell me on what I system I should get. Feeling impulsive today, but want to get the right one. Not too loud, but aggressive enough that I notice quite a difference.

based on what ive read, i would go with the 8", and install the resonator later if you feel you need it.

This is what im doing. I wanted exactly what you described.

Oh man I am soon the fence on this one! Some backstory:
I’ve passed on my 07 TRD Crewmax to my 16 year old to drive and I bought a new truck. Couple months ago he mentioned straight pipes. I told him I really didn’t want to do that but I would help with duals or a different exhaust. Didn’t hear anymore about it. Fast Forward to this Saturday and I discover that my enterprising young son has taken apart the whole exhaust system (anywhere there was a joint) and wired it up so it all still looks like it’s connected up. He hasn’t gone far with it since he did it on Friday afternoon. Man I hit the roof! Really because he did it when I specifically told him not to.
Going to take it to the local shop and get it checked where I made him put it back together. Would there be any advantages over the Deeds 8” vs the local muffler shops Flowmaster dual conversion?

Yes definite advantages. Both power and awesomeness lol. the 8in ends up being like 475 or something if you go aluminized. even cheaper if you dont get the resonator. most muffler shops (at least in so cal) will charge about 300 for a weld in replacement by magnaflow or something similar. So its not that much more for a legit bolt on system thats clearly the best in the business for the tundra, as long as you call and buy TODAY. Make your son sweat though. tell him you were gonna do it but decided not to because he pulled that stunt, then make him drive around with the stock exhaust a little more. Then take all the wheels off the truck, put it on jack stands, and put the new 8in system on the ground right next to the truck. He will be stoked, then ask you about the wheels, to which you can say " thats because you were a little d bag and disobeyed me" or something similar in your own words.

.....i mean thats what i would do anyway.

Just snag the budget system from dirtydeeds. It's straight pipes, loud and raspy but doesn't drone if the resonator is installed. Would be approximately $200

Does anyone watching this thread already have the standard 8” ?

    Curious about this

“Otherwise the sound is clean and deep until you reach 65mph”

Let’s be realistic about my highway speeds... How’s it sound around 80+mph?

Just called and left a VM for Keith for the 8" aluminized steel. With the discount it's a great deal.

I believe Keith said somewhere in these 34 pages the 10" system is closest to the TRD dual system regarding sound.
