I am trying to figure out how my truck went from being aligned with no issues on April 26th and then last Friday July 8th I have maxed out camber. He said it should be ok the way it is. OK? These tires are freaking expensive and the last thing I want is to wear the tires unnecessarily.

This first pic is from the alignment in April when I took my 35’s for their last ride
    IMG_5933.jpg

This is from last Friday after the 37’s were mounted the day before
    IMG_5934.jpg

Any help would be appreciated, I do not know where I should be with the 37’s. After the first alignment I drove around 35,000 miles with all on road driving and never Offroad.

    Thanks in advance

Hit any big pot holes? Or they didn’t fully torque the cam bolts and they moved?

I think you need to be more explicit to the guy on the alignment rack on your target numbers. Seems to me the tech was chasing OE spec numbers...Who performed the alignment?

On April 26th when I got the alignment and there were no issues (first alignment sheet) I got my alignment, drove home and packed my truck for a long drive across the country and I did not look at the cams when I got home. When I came home after the trip and weeks later I started trimming for the 37's that I was planning on buying and while under my truck I seent the cams on the LCA's had a yellow mark that all of them were pretty far off except one that was slightly off. I have no idea what color the alignment tech used for his marking or if he even marked them (assume they would for return purposes) and I was going to call today but that was so long ago I don't think it is worth the effort.

When I got the alignment last week I would have assumed if they were loose they would have told me and they said nothing about that.

Did you hear any clunking when turning hard?

It used to clunk on my old truck until I tightened the cam bolts.

If I knew what numbers to ask for that would help. I posted up in this forum looking for 37 alignment numbers and got a few. I asked on here for someone in the area that knows what they are doing and got a recommendation of a guy named Sarge (his last name is actually Masters so it took me a while to find him) and I found him at Big O Tire on 7th st and Camelback. When I talked to him the first question I asked was if he was fluent with adjustable UCA's in particular the Icon Billet DJ's and he said of course, that is why everyone comes to me. Well afterwards when I got home I seen the aligner was not him it was another person. I called and left a message on Monday for him to call me and no return call.

I will be visiting them tomorrow unannounced. The guy I talked to was the Assistant Manager not the Manager so I am going to looking for him and see if we can resolve this issue.

Gosh darn it, you guys are a bad influence!! I found a deal on load range C KO2's in 37x12.5x17 and scooped them up. Now to go for some wheels! Leaning toward a plus 35 offset to help with rubbing! Still running the stock front bumper, even though it's spaced gonna be close. BMC done so I am good there! IMG_3320.jpg

    Too many mods to come

Go to westcott for your alignment. These trucks with mods are better suited to offroad shops not normal alignment places.

Took the 37s equipped tundra for a 300miles road trip and it did pretty well. 13-13.5mpg calculated. Not bad.

Couple questions for those of you running 37s -

Did you upgrade your brakes or is this totally not worth doing? My understanding is a brake upgrade is not possible with 17 inch wheels and I know plenty of you are running 37s with 17 inch wheels. I’m leaning towards 18s for this reason if I go 37s. Thoughts?

As for re-gearing, it seems like a split between “it’s totally fine to run 37s without re-gearing” and “you absolutely need to re-gear if you run 37s”. The Toyota engineers designed everything to run stock tires or the 5.7 is a powerful engine, bulletproof transmission and can easily run 37s forever. Thoughts?

I've been running 37s on stock gears for 6 years now. But, I want to regear. It was always something that was on my "eventually" list. Power loss? Yes, definitely and noticeably. Obviously the power loss hasn't been enough to make me regear for 6 years, though. All that said, it's also not my daily driver, and lately I've been making long vacation trips with it w/ thousands of miles on the highway....so my next mod is regearing to 4.88 simply bc I'm tired of it downshifting on the slightest incline on the highway. Didn't buy the truck for mpg - so I'm not really concerned about that - would just like it to not downshift so much while in cruise. And the added benefit of getting the original power back is a plus. Also the modest mpg gains - though that's never a reason to spend several thousand...recouping the gas cost would take years. All that said - it's overall been fine for the past 6 years. It's been more minor annoyances that, up till now, I've resisted splurging ~$3-4k on regearing. But the splurge is coming.

I can't speak to 17" wheels & brake upgrade. I have 20" wheels. I waited till I needed new pads & upgraded to cryo drilled/slotted rotors. I can't imagine why you couldn't upgrade your brakes simply because you have 17" wheels. Unless you mean you want bigger rotors. I don't think you need bigger rotors though. Stock brakes work fine even with 37s. Had it like that for years. If you really want to upgrade them, get cryo drilled and/or slotted rotors of the same size & you'll be fine (my rotors are same size as oem).

Thanks for your insight. For the brakes, yes, it is my understanding that larger rotors won’t work with 17” wheels.

Do the drilled/slotted rotors give you more stopping power? My concern is mainly added weight from racks/gear, in addition to the 37s.

@reywcms can you drop the link here again for the big brake kit that works with 17s?
I can’t find it from when you sent it to me before.

My truck is heavy as hell so I'm not really sure how much it's helped tbh. I'm over 7300 pounds w/ mods & stuff in tool chest. I've had to emergency stop a few times over the years & even after the brake upgrade, the pucker factor was pretty high. Again, I'm like 2k pounds over curb weight, so take that into consideration :)

I linked the fix above and it will stop short like a Porsche turbo all day. The truck it’s on weighs more than yours.
