Prinsu. Make sure to get the proper plusnut installation tool. The tool provided didn't work for me, I had to drill out the 1st 5 installed.

Thank you so much to everyone in this thread who provides all the information and knowledge. I get an alignment Monday but even without one I have pegged the steering wheel left and right going forward and in reverse and haven’t heard anything. That’s on flat pavement of course. Anyways. Thanks again.

Icon 17 inch Thrust wheel. Brushed Satin. 37x12.5x17 Cooper AT3 XLT’s. Bilstein 6112 top setting. Total Chaos UCA’s. C4 Overland bumper. CMC done by @BashFab. Easy day.

Got them on! Little bit of rubbing at full lock on the body mount, but that is to be expected as I wasn’t super aggressive with the chop. Easy fix with the angle grinder now that I have the tires. Rubbed on the front bumper a lot, I drove straight to autozone and grabbed a little hand saw and went to town before I drove home. Also going to get an alignment and try and get some more clearance off the frame.

Took my truck to get an alignment today, shop is trying to tell me that positive caster is going to make it drive like a shopping cart and be more unstable at higher speed. (pretty sure that positive caster moves the wheel forward and makes it more stable but harder to turn). They also didn't want to adjust my UCA because they would have to remove the through bolt. Argued with them for a bit and they ended up pushing the caster forward. Left to right specs are -.5/3.2/.16 and -.5/4.2/.2 for camber/caster/toe. They claimed they couldn't get any more caster on the left because I would end up with camber out of limits. Tires clear the body mount on the right side but they hit the mount at full lock to the left. The shop wanted to redo my body mount chop (I did it myself). They suggested chopping out the bolt and welding that section together, the tires rub on the bolt.

What I think needs to be done is an alignment with a ~4 degrees of caster and as close to zero on the camber as possible. I feel like adjusting the UCA would allow this. Is this something that I just need to take to a different shop, do myself, or am I miss understanding the problem?

Damn.. ya you really need to go to a different shop. With the Heimmed TC UCAs you should really be able to get the settings to the perfect sweet spot. I think typically try to go with a 0.5 difference in caster with passenger being the larger caster number to compensate for road grade.

I think the shops the problem. I tried to get under my truck and mess with it myself but I need two 24mm sockets and I only own one. Wife is already upset about the number of tools I have been buying so I called around and did some “interviews” with alignment shops and have another alignment scheduled on Monday.

I would go to another shop. It doesn’t sound like they have the knowledge or just don’t want to do a proper alignment.

Haven’t posted in a while, so some flicks from the recent tahoe trip. Truck performed great. We’re getting ready to add a winch so it might go up a few turns

I have yet to peruse the views of historic downtown due to the poor weather. However, it does appear warmer weather is approaching indicating Lulu Lemon on both sides of the street.

Lulu on King street versus yoga pants in Wal-Mart is NOT the same thing.

    Not sure at this point.
Not sure if this has been asked, but what's the ride like on top settings? If you went back to the start of your suspension upgrades, would you have gone with Fox/Kings 2.5s?

I'm looking to eventually go the dirty7 routes (may even hop past the 35s route), but really want opinions on the ride quality.

I installed the Bilsteins before I put any miles on my truck so I have nothing to compare it to. But my truck feels really nice to me. Sorry I don’t have better information for you.
