Question on 37’s. 3.5” lift/level with UCA’s on the way as well as rear shackles and bumper shims. BMC is scheduled for next week as well. ALL my driving is flat hwy 100 miles per day m-f..gas is paid for by company so not worried about that. Will 37’s fit with future setup and will I absolutely have to re-gear or good to keep stock? Don’t pull trailers or anything as I have a diesel for that. TIA for any input!

What rim offset and and diameter are most running with the 37s? I have a 6 inch lift. And with that offset... How much did you have to cut?

    durty7s crew.

REAR fender liners - at full stuff I rub in a bunch of places around the liner, pulling on some of the clips, I had to remove some of the bolts to reduce tire chewing. Is anyone relocating this up higher somehow? Or is my best bet bump stop height adjustment? The stock bumps were just barely engaging at full stuff. Wheelers can be shimmed to desired height easily. Durobumps has a 3.5" but softer engagement than the 2.75" stock hard rubber bump stops. Any other suggestions?

I paid $1900 for 5:29 Nitro gears parts and labor > Premier West Gears in Riverside, CA
I also had a rear ARB locker installed at the same time but I supplied the locker and had already installed onboard air.

Dang, I'm getting quoted $3k by almost non-responsive shops in the midwest. I'm going to give them some time due to the current conditions, but I've also been reading about gear setup and looking into the tools I'd need to acquire/make to just start doing it myself.

On the bump stop note above. I ended up ordering some Durobumps for the rear that just went live on SDHQ's website. They are 3.5" tall and softer than the stock ~2.75" hard rubber stops so I assume I'm going to have to figure out how to shim them to limit up travel until they come out with 4.5" and 5.5" options like they have for the Tacoma.

I rub with 35" tires! I have a Deaver mini-pack and Toytec shackles with the stock bump stop.
I get quite a bit of flex with this set-up. Did you find a solution to the rubbing???

Almost ready to pull the trigger on 37s and had a few questions about tire size selection.

    Here's my current set up.
King OEM extended coilers with 700lb springs in the front with SPC upper control arms (no sway bars) >>>3" front lift
King OEM shocks in the rear with Deaver Mini pack and Toytec rear shackles. >>>2" rear lift
Addictive Desert Designs Stealth Fighter front and rear bumpers.
    BMC (Body Mount Chop)
    Front Wheeler bump stops
I have 18" Method Grid wheels that are 9" wide and have 18mm offset
5.29 gears with rear ARB locker ;)

I wheel a lot and rub a bit on the rear with BFG 35'x12.5 when fully flexed (not very much just occasionally).
The BFG actually run quite a bit smaller than advertised They are currently 11" wide on the tread and 34" high.
So I'm thinking that the BFG KM3s 37x13.5 would fit with minimal rubbing.
I like the 37x13.5 over the 37x12.5's because the price difference is $114 more per tire and I'd be buying 5.

What's your thoughts on tire selection?
Anyone take actual measurements of their tires?
    How bad would they rub?
Any advice would greatly be appreciated!
    Thanks!

With that setup you should be good. When you got your alignment, do you know or remember what your current castor was? I told them 3-4 on the castor and should have just said 4+ because I didn't realize that I was already around 4 and they took me back to 3. I now rub (with BMC) but just on the pinch wield so about to do the pinch wield mod to keep from paying another alignment.

Also(almost forgot) I don't know or remember reading of anyone on here with a 3 inch lift that was able to run 37s with 13.5 width tire.... that's further opening up the possibility of rubbing at full/partial turn while flexing

    Thanks TXTundra2722,
I can't remember my specs exactly. I will dig them up. I actually didn't have to adjust my lower control arms for caster so I can move them quite a bit forward. Probably my best bet would to go to a store and physically measure the tires to compare to what I have now. My concern in the front as they won't tuck inside the fender. I can trim and roll the cab a bit more so I'm not to concerned about that. I have the same concern with the rear but I'll give up a bit of flex by shimming or replacing the factory bump stop....Thanks!

should be pulling the trigger in a few months on new tires torn between a 35 and 37, big question is where are you all keeping your spare. I know a 35 is a squeeze under the bed.

    Woah,
Just read through this epic page turner and I’m probably more confused now than when I started.

I’m planning my mods for later this year. (Gotta pay off Feds Taxes 1st)

I was looking at Expedition One bumpers and then I saw some Tunny’s with 37’s.

    Damn you. Damn you all...

So... I’m gonna try to plan this out properly and “support” small businesses during these times.

    1) I currently have the Bilstein TRD Pro suspension.
    2) Currently on Toyo 33.5” Toyo R/T’s.
    3) Currently on Method NV’s 18x9’s with +25 offset.

Truck rides great on road and handles the light trails and very minor off-roading I’ve done so far. (I am a total noob at 4x4)

    So...

What suspension & necessary components should I be budgeting for? Kings? Icon? ADS ? Fox ?
Seems like 3.5” to 4.0” is the safer route. I just don’t wanna go too high. Never been a fan of big lifted truck look.

    COST.

I know it’s not gonna be cheap to do this right. What am I looking at after all said n done?

I appreciate the info from the thread thus far, I’m just looking for honest input and ideally some peeps local to SoCal so I can check out their rigs and ride quality.

    All help is appreciated.

Stick with 3" or below lift, your drive train will be happier. The ideal offset for 37's is +18mm to +25mm. Search for my profile name for pix of how much to nip and tuck. Make sure to mod your liner as well for protection of the air pumps. Alignment wise, max out the caster as much as possible (going out of spec is ok) and stay within specs for toe and chamber. My truck is 3/1.5" lift with 37x12.5R20 and +20mm offset without rubbing at full articulation while at full steering lock. My bro truck is on 37x13.5R18 and +25mm offset, he barely rubs at full articulation while at full steering lock. I did both trucks.

Welp, Nitro 19% off deal got me. 5.29 with Auburn LSD carrier and some oil headed my way. With all this quarantine time I decided to order some extra tools and just learn how to do it myself.

    FYI Nitro sale ends today!

EDIT sale extended to May 4th now!

Don't worry, they sent me the wrong ratio and graciously paid for ground shipping back before they will ground ship me the right ratio so I'm stilllllll waiting.

The fact they are paying for shipping, even if it is ground is a win in my book sir.

If you do they install/how-to just make sure to buy plenty of beer.
