I love the run on, it helps us all get educated. Sorry I don’t have your answer, I gotta tag @dirtydeeds. This is the first time he’s run a group buy with the TRD replacement, so I don’t have all the answers. He’s an honest guy though and will chime in to make sure this is the right fit for your needs.

You'll need mid pipes between the headers and the trd system. Everything I've read from Keith indicates that he recommends running the OEM cats. What I don't know if this is on the factory mid pipes

Called @dirtydeeds today. Great guy helped point me in the right direction and seemed far more concerned with getting me something I would be happy with rather than making some extra bucks. If you’re on the fence give him a call! Deposit payed and I’m pumped!

    Thanks @dirtydeeds

Have people painted the aluminized steel systems? Is it recommended to leave stock and only paint the tailpipe?

MARanger... no never had any issues with inspection....MA inspectors are more worried bout your window tint ( that is something that got me rejected even though I bought it Certified from a dealer...LOL)

MA inspectors will also make me take mt Veteran Lic Plate Frame off my vehicle till inspection is over...had that happen twice too...

    But no issues with Exhaust

Good to know, I've been called out on some BS stuff myself, but I've been keeping things stock since they changed up the laws and put cameras in the inspection bays. Figured inspectors would be keeping things legit.......then again the wrecks i see driving around Springfield and Holyoke with stickers should have been my 1st clue

One place in Southwick at the Valvoline rejected me repeatedly for BS... so I avoid them... some pimple faced 18 y/o thinks he knows somethin... assbags...

I discussed this scenario with Keith when I bought my system as the long tubes are on the to do list. The mid pipes will need to be re worked and the factory cats welded into them. He will do it for you or if too far away and you want to avoid shipping you could prob find a local shop to do it...but seriously call him, believe it or not he enjoys helping people make the right decision to make sure your happy with his product.

@dirtydeeds Is there any comparison (sound wise) between the TRD Rep. medium or loud and the 6”, 8” or 10” systems? Thanks!

Just give him a call. Like others have stated, he loves helping people decide on systems and making sure it’s what they want. His number is plastered all over this thread, but I’ll add it to the OP. I’ll add your name to the list!

No one single video has all of these. But get on YouTube and specifically search each of the above options. There’s tons of videos of each.

Keep in mind, the videos don’t do it justice. And in a lot of em the recording conditions are as big a variable as the system itself. But, it’ll give you an idea.

We take factory cats and make them the inlet/outlet that we want to match the header collector and the rest of the system. When it’s all said and done it looks like they came from Toyota and they just bolt right up to jba long tubes;)

The trd rep system replaces the muffler section of the trd system with our own muffler section thst has an X pipe and helmholtz resonators.

You need mid pipes to go between either the trd system or the trd rep system.

Your proposed set up absolutely makes sense and will gain 41hp 73tq to the rear wheels over stock. And if a Crewmax 4x4 you will drop .5 from your e/t in the 1/8 mile;)

Everything that is needed to install a trd systrm is included with the tailpipe kit from Toyota.

The tailpipe kit retails for $450. And dealer employee price is about $379.

Most dealerships will negotiate to dealer employee price even to the general public.

All that said, I normally recommend single exhaust if running stock exhaust manifolds. And dual exhaust if running long tube headers.

But, I get it. Duals is badasss!!! That’s why I developed the trd rep system. We st least minimize low end torque loss by using the x pipe

We slightly upsize the pipe or it makes a weird sound.

Same overall Hp and tq gains between our systrm and trd over stock. The stock muffler costs quite a bit of power.

The benefit of our system versus trd is the x pipe. That starts scavenging a lot sooner. Which gives you more low end torque. You can actually feel a difference from one to another.

And while we’re at it building a custom one off just for the end user, we might as well make the muffler size customizable to make it as loud or as quiet as you want. And to make this all possible without droning your ears to death we include a pair of helmholtz resonators to specifically cancel out 130hz which is the frequency these trucks drone at.

    We do that.

If permanently welded to the trd rep system there is no charge for this.

But if we build the dumps as a bolt on its $100 aluminized steel. $150 stainless steel.
