Accurate. I used to turn left out of my parking spot at work. Now I have to turn right because there isn’t enough room to clear. (Parking lot has two entrances and I park near the one on the left.)

I hope not. As it stands, I hate all Hyundai and Kia drivers on the road. They are shitty drivers and are all over the road just to take up space and create traffic. Having a truck would just let them take up more space and not know how to handle their vehicle

I haven’t tested my Gen 3 and Gen 2 in an actual race side by side, but it’s a significant difference.
My trucks in order of fastest to slowest:
    2011
    2023
    2017

There’s a pretty big gap between each. The 2.5 is slowest by far.

Glad the worst in class turning radius could bring you a chuckle. Pretty sure 2nd and 2.5 gen were best in class.

You can fix a 5.7 in your garage and it will be more reliable long term than a twin turbo engine. If you want all the gadgets and tech, buy a 3rd gen - but not a 2022 or 2023.

Because of our waistline, we just need more space to maneuver

Reports from owners and reviewers are it tows really well with the turbos. Durabilty is a ?
The geographic location needs depend for each of us. Some here will say off-road... I don't care. But because you brought it up.
Articulation between the two is not even close. The previous Gen was designed for offroad.
In the attached video test the previous Gen went to the top of the ramps and could have done more. It maxed them out.
Thats why there are arrows in the attached pic.
So best in class turning radius and articulation. For a big truck on tight trails thats good.
One of my 4Runner's back wheels have been in the air, and my Tundra wheels are still planted on parts of trails I have been on. But the 4Rnr can squeeze through spots I would not take my truck due to the width.

Yea but it was still a weird comparison. I understand he wanted to compare an earlier 2nd Gen to an earlier 3rd Gen. But find me the guy looking for a truck that says "I either want an '08 or a '24, nothing in-between".

In the real world people will be weighing their options between late 2nd Gens and the new 3rd Gens. If they're looking at '07-08 models, they likely aren't looking at anything above $25k and have already ruled out both later 2nd Gens and obviously 3rd Gens too.

Isn’t that what the internet is all about? Sad thing is I’d bet you’ll find more helpful and accurate info here than you will at a dealership.

I don’t think this is necessarily accurate. I mean, who is hating on the new GX? Pretty much everyone is thrilled for that thing.

The general consensus seems to be that the new Tacoma is going to be awesome.

The new GM gas engine HDs with the 10 speed transmission and new interior have been generally received very favorably as well.

We can’t be friends anymore, the new GX is the best new product in the SUV market Toyota/Lexus have offered in 20 years.

We’re leaning towards the TX. The GX is a bit outta my price range with the wanted options

They’re really totally different vehicles. The GX is a midsized truck/SUV best exemplified with the Overtrail trim seating 5. It’s not horribly priced if you stay away from too many options. I’m strongly considering one because of the likely longevity and all around utility.

The TX is a proper luxury on road 3 row AWD station wagon they’re calling an SUV. This is a good thing for most people with no interest in off road driving. For example I will not be surprised at all if a TX 500h is taking up a slot in my garage later this year. My mom lives with us and she’s ready to trade in her 2021 RX350 on something with more people space and luggage space. I think the TX will be a massive upgrade for her to gallivant round in, and host her friends and us when we go on longer trips.

There was a video posted comparing the two directly. As usual, you came here to shill for the 3rd gen, we came to shill for the 2nd. What is the difference? The 3rd gen victim card claiming 2nd gen owners are just meanies is getting old too. I don’t recall saying anything mean about 3rd gens in here, just pointing out what I prefer about mine and why I probably won’t buy a 3rd. Just here to converse!

we’re in the same boat. Trading a 21 RX. Waiting for our allocation in may. We like the idea of the bigger middle seat compared to the RX for a growing family. I like the GX too but it’s for the wife so I have no say

nobody is playing a victim card, certainly not me.

if you prefer your truck, fine totally cool with that, I have owned 5 tundras , all were good

Specifically , when current (I’m not saying you here on this point) owners of the last gen make posts about how the old one was a truck and the new one isn’t , or the new one is a car, making it out like the old one is a 3/4 ton or something , that’s what is just lame.

my 16 had a 1100 lbs payload , oh boy , what a truck, it rode like shit and that’s not like it was at the expense of a real payload , it wasn’t

Anyway , see ya around I’m sure

Not really into racing big slow bricks but for what’s it worth , tow+ on the new one feels like it would surge well out in front of my 16

towing , it pulls way easier with the more and lower torque and 10 speed

the TT 93 Supra we had, now that was fast and fun
