Just came in the mail today when I got home from work so decided to throw it in quick install was really easy and straight forward and the new brackets that hot shot made for this bar is great I can't see this thing moving at all now the pain in the ass part will be aiming it cause it will have to be unbolted from the rebar assembly and adjusted and then put back but no worries there it will all work out !

Did you install that on a switch or did you use the high beam as a switch? I'm thinking of using a fuse tap on the high beam fuse. It will keep me from having to cut and factory wires.

I basically just used it with the switch it came with just the typical positive, negative and run the switch through the firewall and mount in one of my blanks and I can use it anytime I want, high/ low beam or even with the truck not turned on at all

The bar is so bright, high beams are basically pointless. I wouldn’t want to be an oncoming motorist and get hit with the bar, so I highly recommend against wiring it to highs.

Glad I stumbled across this... I bought a 42" DD Bar for my 21 Tundra and was planning to install it tonight and then started finding all the complaints about the mounting brackets. Grateful but also annoyed as I bought the bar from DD at the Overland Expo Show and their offer for a discount was to charge me for the light only and gave me the brackets and wiring harness kit for free. Now I know why they offered to throw the brackets in for free. Apparently they are junk...

Anyway, I just ordered the brackets from Hot Shot and will wait for them to arrive before I do the installation.

    Thanks OP

Can you post a pic with the light turned off? Also, what pattern did you get...spot, flood combo? Thanks!
