Did you even read the comment this was in reply to?

They said they couldn't find it, I showed them where it was...

Oh, yeah, man. I was just following up. Didn't mean any offense or to imply you weren't answering the question. I was just adding to the conversation.

No offense taken, just found the follow-up to be a little odd within the context of the question/answer comments.

Correct, a lot of people will not fall into this category.

Thank you YotaBro and 14burrito for posting the maintenence link and maintenance log information.

Yes, I am 100 % agree with you. It is case by case depending on how the truck is driven.

Anyone know the capacities off the top of their head? Thanks to this thread, decided to do my own and don’t have the truck manuals with me.... *sigh*

My recollection is just over 3 qts for the rear and just over 2 qts in front. 6 qts is enough for both. Be warned you'll probably want a transfer pump for the front. The bags or bottles work fine in the back.

Has anyone used Lucas? They have a synthetic 75w-90 in the area. Having NO luck with Mobile 1 or Ravenol. I guess I can order online, but try to buy local.

    Lots of shenanigans.
That's what I based it off when I swapped out my fluids. No experience with Lucas. I used Mobile 1 cause Autozone was running a deal. I honestly don't think that the brands matter too too much but thats just my .02 cents

I ordered from a local dealer, like 16 qts(two yota family) and I forgot to note I wanted the squeeze bags!!!!!!!!
I did 4 fluid swaps with a cheapie pump in one day, and just threw it away.

I found Mobile 1 LS in 75w-90 at advance auto on sale for $12. Should be ok, just the limited slip version, right? The clerk said it is just fine in an open diff...

Do not need a transfer pump if you have a section (2-3 ft?) of tygon tubing. You run one end up into the wheel well and the other down into the fill port on the front diff. Gravity feed. Worked just fine.

FYI....I think the kit cost is the same price as ordering the individual containers from their site. I am thinking that if you register on the site, they give you free shipping plus you earn points that are easily convertible into $$ off. Also, they have sales from time to time. Finally, that Ravenol bottle is quite an interesting package. It has a flexible nozzle that pulls out of the top. I saved some empty ones just to have them for other uses.

I suppose they don't want you to run short. As I indicated above, I don't think the kit price is discounted vs the individual bottles. I ordered 6 of the MTF-1 and it was plenty.

"The Toyota Tundra models were optioned with several rear differential types. These rear end differentials had varying fluid capacities from 3.6 - 4.6 liters (3.8 - 4.8 quarts). Please reference your vehicle owner's manual to confirm your exact rear end differential fluid capacity and adjust the quantity of the 75W-85 gear oil in your cart as needed."

Looks like some require 4.8 in the rear.

Does anyone know where the torque specs are documented for the differentials and the transfer case? There are 3 different washer types, so want to make sure they are right and can’t find them in the manual...

    Awesome, thank you!

    To summarize:
    Front diff: 29 ft-lbs
    Rear diff: 36 ft-lbs
    Transfer case: 18 ft-lbs

I am new to both Tundras and 4WD in general. I've watched the various YT videos about doing the service yourself. I think I can do most of it, except maybe the transfer case (with the paper clip jumper, shifting sequence and temperature sensor). The used 2016 we bought has 66k miles, and I doubt any of the oils, other than engine oil, was ever serviced. I don't think the truck has ever been used for towing though.

Is 75W-90 safely interchangeable with 75W-85, listed in my manual?

You're thinking of the transmission, the transfer case is a simple drain & fill.
