Peeking through my skid plate it looks like I have some type of conical washer that would fit the contours over what you have there.

Mine has washers to, just bigger than the head. Every video I watched and 15whtrd has the large flat washers on the bottom

Looking at this again compared to mine. It looks like the bolt is bottomed out or not fully supporting the diff mounts.

It’s actually not bottomed out, it still has threads but I have tightened it as much as I can without stripping or snapping it. I’m thinking of taking the mount off and bolting it up to the frame then attaching it to the diff

Mine sits like that also. Been like that a couple of years. Not quite as big a gap, but slightly misseated. A friend that does installs said he’s seen others do it too. I wonder if it’s the brand of diff drop? I’ve been meaning to remove the drop since I’m only at 2.5” now. But the skid plate is in the way and I’m sick of removing it. And whenever the skid plate comes off, then I can’t find the stock bolts. :annoyed:

Thanks joonbug! I have tried everything I know to do and it’s still the same. It’s secured so that’s good. I was hoping that was the cause for my “ pop” I’ve been hearing. I’ve been through the entire thing checking and double checking and I haven’t found anything loose yet.

I think that washer your missing should be factory and should have been reused prior to installing..

What is the "pop" you've been hearing? Do you hear it inside the cab, do you feel it on your steering wheel?

You can definitely get it inside the cab, but you can’t feel it. It happens at low speed when the suspension compresses slight or body roll. It stopped once for a month or so and now is bad. I have checked everything.

This is exactly what is going on. Your installer didn't transfer the large washer onto the longer bolt. Go slap that bitch.

@saybng it started when I had the lift installed. After I had the lift installed they said they could not get the proper alignment so I ordered the adjustable SPC UCA’s. They installed them and it still pops. I went through the entire truck this morning checking, loosing and re- torquing every bolt. The shop has looked 3 times and can’t find anything. I have a appt with another shop the 18th. I have the basic “creeks” but the pop isn’t a everyday thing. I went about a month and didn’t hear a thing then a few days ago it started again. It’s only on the passenger side, when the suspension compress slightly. I can’t get it to pop when I bounce on the front end either. I’m clueless but the pop is loud enough to make you slow down a good when driving

^^^Yes this! Those folks that installed it decided to leave off that washer, factory one goes back on and compresses against the bushing. Hopefully not cross threaded either, PITA to get the drivers side nut on and tight...when I installed my lift I think that was the point in the day where my swearing became audible throughout the neighborhood...

Bad pic. I got one of the washers installed. Diff is not bouncing 1/4” now. The driver side is going to be a total ass lol. I talked with a experienced shop and the only conclusion they could come up with is during turns, slow bumps, the diff was moving around lowly causing the CV’s to bind. We’ll see!

Drivers side is ass...you need a 5 year old or a midget with small hands and long arms to get that nut on.

I was the complete opposite. I could get a wrench in from the front but no way to get the nut in there and lined up. Every angle I tried just could not get my hand up there.
Why in the world those nuts aren’t captured is beyond me.

I only leveled my truck and said screw it after 45 minutes of trying to get my hand up there.
Not worth the risk of not being able to get the nut on there.
My CV angles aren’t screaming so I am not too concerned.
