Every vehicle I have ever bought from a dealership has had a full tank…. Even if I had too remind them…..

 

Funny this thread exists. I've owned an 05 used, 13 used, and 20 new, all purchased with a full tank. However, my 22 had 14miles until empty and off I went. Was a first for me but either way I was glad to finally have my truck.

When I bought my 19 tundra new, they forgot to fill my tank and I had a bunch of issues I had to take it back and forth. Because of that the dealer had to give me some free parts that I asked for as compensation for having to waste my time going back and forth and made them sign a paper promising my original full tank of gas I should have gotten as well as a second full tank for the bs. The manager agreed and I got the trd exhaust and tow mirrors free. And then when I filled up both times I put premium and the service guy saw the second time and was like I don’t think they agreed to premium fuel and I said unless you’re gonna take it out my tank for me I don’t think there’s much of a choice at this point. He laughed and we called it even. Lol

 

Oh yeah, but my 22 came with a full tank. I made sure to check when they helped me set up all the profile stuff and app.

 

Mine came with a full tank and on the paper work they charged me $90 for it? Last time I checked, my fuel tank size is 32.2 gallons.

 

That's crazy, how did they list that on your paperwork?

 

Mine was a used Toyota certified so full tank and a detail before I was given the keys plus the sales woman gave my 5 year old a stuffed Toyota branded alligator.

 

Picked mine up this past Saturday. Windows sticker stated 6 Gallons of gas, but it had a full tank.
SET Region - Hoover Toyota.

 

Still cheaper than getting full tank yourself.

 

WTF???? So was the '6 Gallons of Gas' on the Monroney label or something off to the side that the dealer threw on there. If it was the Monroney label, you've gotta take a pic of that and attach it to your post so we can roast Toyota for that BS...

 

I gotta find my window sticker. but it’s also on this sheet the dealership provided.

The prices all matched when I built the same truck on Toyota's Build site. Except for the spray in bed liner, it doesn't list that as an option for me.

 

I'm curious about what was on your Monroney sticker vs. what the Dealer gave you... and whether or not a "full tank of gas" is still listed on Monroney from Toyota! Some folks here have said 'full tank' is no longer listed on the Monroney for the 22s, but the one's I've seen do have it on there... If so, Toyota is expecting and compensating the dealer to put in a full tank of gas, but it seems like that is not happening and dealers are being deceptive about it. However, I'll have to look at the Monroneys on the next few vehicles that end up at the local dealer and see if that has changed...

Mine shows $169 for all weather mats, $595 for dual step running board, black, and Bed liner $579. And that's what I paid for both 2022 Tundra I got.

 

I don't doubt that Southeast Toyota tacks on their 'cut' for each of these accessories.

Mine came with half a tank but he took $2k off the truck so I wasn’t upset about it.

So found my actual window sticker. Looks like it says Full Tank of Gas. So i was mistaken on that part.

 

used or new i wont buy a truck without a full tank.. I always make sure they fill it before I sign the paperwork. when i test drove the tundra it had 20 miles to E.. I am happy I saved over 130 bucks having them fill the 38 gallon tank.

 

Wife and I have had 4 new Toyotas over the last 10 years. All came with full tanks.

 

So... this has been my point through this thread. A lot of folks are saying they are only getting partial tanks or they are being charged for fuel, etc... and several have said it wasn't on their actual Monroney sticker! Every one I've seen has this on the sticker (including the '22s.

I still have yet to see (in person or posted on this thread) an actual Monroney that doesn't include a full tank of gas as a standard feature!!!!

My point is when people are picking up their vehicles, look at the Monroney sticker (not the BS crap being slapped on by some of the dealers) and make sure you're getting everything on that sticker (including a full tank of gas) because you've already paid for it within the MSRP. The dealers know this, and those that are charging extra, not filling the tank, etc. are screwing you.

It would be no different than having a package that includes bedliner, steps and floor mats added to the MSRP as part of the build, but the dealer removes the factory Monroney and attaches some BS dealer build sheet to the window and then charges you a la cart for each of those items in addition to the full MSRP.

Stop being appreciative and acting like a favor was done for you because they filled your tank; they did what they were contractually obligated to do. For those that paid extra for fuel, get a copy of the Monroney for your vehicle and your itemized dealer contract showing the upcharge for fuel. Then contact Toyota corporate and tell them you were charged twice/extra; or the dealer refused to honor the Monroney and fill the tank at delivery; or whatever your individual situation is.
