Looks unfinished to me but it’s really what you like, your truck.

I live in Oklahoma! The black would cook anything in the bed on some hot summer days! I’m thinking about the uncoated!

I have black one here in DFW and while the diamondback gets hot the air in the bed is surprisingly cooler.

If you think heat will be that much of an issue, you could install adhesive automotive flexible thermal insulation to the underside of each panel. I’ve used the combo sound deadening thermal/heat shield insulation on the floor pan and lower interior firewall on a few of my project cars.

I have an unfinished toolbox and they look bad after a few years. Polishing is a real PITA.

I think with the aluminum you'll always be blinding yourself on sunny days.

I just put on an unfinished Dback SE. Pics here but not been on long enough to generate any thoughts. Dback 1.jpg Dback 2.jpg

I don’t like the looks, especially with the black handles. Plus, I think the black finish will make the surface more durable and hide-prevent scratches.

I had a DB on my F350 and loved it. I threw stuff on top all the time and was glad to have the coated surface.
