For all the DFW folks, this looks like a good time:

I'll be out there with little man checking out the rigs and getting a sugar high.

    Canceled :(

Hello from Caddo Mills! Anyone around the area (north texas) have any suggestions on some trails to hit? Just wanting to do some mild yet fun off road driving. My 18 is basically stock, just a level kit and good tires. Wanting to use 4 wheel drive and have a blast.

Barnwell Offroad park is in Gilmer, and they have anything from mild to wild!
Maybe about an equal distance the other direction is northwest OHV park in Bridgeport. They have some good entry level things, but it’s a small park so you may get bored quick with the easy stuff

Appreciate the feedback! I used to race dirt bikes at Barnwell, but that was 20 years ago. Didnt even think of them. Might have to head over that way one weekend and have a look around .

Pretty sure you’ll have to get an OHV permit for your truck if you’re going to do that.

Thank you for the heads up. A quick google search shows they’re only $16, so hopefully that won’t be an issue. Unless I missed some details on requirements for the sticker.

They are cheap. Just gotta find a place that sells them. I’m not sure if the parks sell them. I haven’t bought one in years but when I did I had to go to a Jeep shop in town somewhere.

The offroad parks sell them, but they sell out regularly.
If you have a 4WP or Texas Parks and Wildlife field office nearby they’ll have them

I know there USED to be a 4wp in Plano, I’ll have to check and see if they’re still at the same spot. Thank y’all a bunch!

I do not, I normally park at Park N Fly since its gated and monitored and costs less than the terminal. They have covered and uncovered spots and vehicle height shouldn't be an issue at all.

I think the highest one there is 7’2”, but only right in front of the terminal. The ones further away are 6’something I beleive. I always park in D and take the tram to my terminal because D has 8’4” parking garages

I park at the Parking Spot. Terminal parking is too rich for my blood.

Me too. FWIW, my truck has 6112s set at 1.9” and 315/79/17s. So it’s not that high, and it fits in pretty much every parking garage I’ve entered.

Thank you for your parking suggestions. Just so it’s here for anyone’s future reference, the upper decks are maximum 6’9”.

I’m wondering if I could get some Dallas/Fort Worth help on tracking down a Dino. A customer had their metal yard dinosaur stolen from their front yard. While there is a chance someone will return the item, I was seeing if I could track down a new one. I found a place 6008 Denton Hwy, Watauga, Tx that seems to have a similar one but have been unable to get any info on price or if it’s something that can be shipped to Wyoming. It’s kind of a large item so worst case is I can make a trip out of it. Or if anyone is driving this way can meet up. Not a big rush, but just trying to have a backup plan for a friend to give them some good news moving forward. El Sol Imports is the business that might have the metal art.
