Hey, guys anyone got any recommendations where to get my coilovers installed I asked my dealer they said it would be $1400. I’m in midlothian south of Dallas but I’d be willing to drive thanks

$1400 is outrageously ridiculous. Which dealer is this so I know to avoid them?

Total Car Care in Waxahachie on the westbound side of 287 past Discount Tire and Dairy Queen quoted me $200 to install already-assembled coilovers. I assembled mine myself using the coil spring compressor at Hall’s Tire Shop on Pleasant Run in Lancaster. I don’t know how much Hall’s would charge to assemble or install them, but they’re usually very reasonable with their labor rates.

I plan on installing mine myself when I can find the time. I’d offer to help you with yours but my free time is temporarily on hold with a newborn and a 4-year old.

I was hoping a DFW thread like this would help develop local wrench-a-thons with fellow Tundra owners, where a few of us could meet from time to time at someone’s garage or driveway and help with installs, repairs, maintenance, etc., but sadly that hasn’t happened, or at least I haven’t been made aware of them. I learned how to pull axles, t-cases, diffs, transmissions, body work and a bunch of other stuff helping fellow Tacoma, Jeep and fullsize Broncos back when I used to own those vehicles. Heck, we even welded on each other’s frames, including my own Taco frame. Maybe there’s no longer much interest in self-installs?

Anyway, if the shops in Wax or Lancaster don’t work out, I’d call local independent shops and ask them. With a lift and all the tools at their disposal, coilovers shouldn’t be hard to install, especially not to warrant in $1400.

It was Vandergriff Toyota in Arlington and then they proceeded to tell me even if they installed it that it would void my warranty and I pointed out to them the 7” lifted tundra in the showroom and asked if that warranty was voided also and as I thought they had no response

Wow. Think I'll avoid that dealership. Also, meant to say the shop in Wax is Walton's Total Car Care.

Last time i was there, they had several custom vehicles which leads me to believe they are. More often then not, they sub the mod work to DFW Camper which is down the street from them.
Though they are owned by the same group as Vandergriff.

That’s disheartening to hear considering the Vandergriff dealership had a lifted tundra in the showroom but still gave me the bs about my warranty guess I can give them a call and see what they say

There's always the smaller franchise dealers. There's Family Toyota in North Arlington and Burleson?
