By the looks of this picture… a nice weight distribution hitch and torsion bars would help you greatly, when set up and the right amount of tension on them.

Pic #1 - That load including trailer was approximately 6500lbs. No torsion bars on
Pic #2 with torsion bars but almost 9500lbs with trailer combined with green firewood, but truck was sitting perfectly level along with trailer..

However I am anticipating new springs from General Spring to try out hopefully and will have some good luck with the increased weight capacity.

From my experience, my trailer has around a 450lb tongue, single axle. Truck is fine without the WDH from a sag perspective with my sumos. However it bounces like a mofo. With the wdh it is smooth riding

I only tow with the hitch ball - boat, and flat trailer with lumber, etc. I’m considering RAS as a help. Anyone have experience with them? Thanks!

Get a WDH. It'll do more than just make it look better, it will tow better.

This is my setup with WDH and air bags set at 50 LBS. It is a 24 ft Jayco, with a hitch weight of 750 lbs. Trailer loaded weight is 7000 lbs. This picture is with no passengers or cargo in truck.
When truck is loaded the truck and trailer set level. Air bags do help. truck.jpg

That looks terrific! What airbags do you have, or are they factory? Any chance you got the rear axle weight with it hooked up and loaded?

I had firestone air bags put on at my local RV shop. And no I have not weight my back axle when loaded.
But using a WDH you see about weight 20% of your hitch weight goes back on to the trailers axles.
So I would say my rear axle with the WDH would be about 150lbs less.

But air bags really help when I disengage my WDH arms, to make sharp corners in campgrounds and back in to campground spots. Without my air bags the rear end of the truck drops by 3".

I camp mostly in the sierra mountain and a lot of the camp ground spaces are not level and have tight corners.

I put sumos on and still use my wdh. You just have to set the wdh after you select you bag pressure.

I've been using a WDH & AirLift's Ultimate 5000 Air bags with great success. It will level any load you could possibly carry/tow with the Tundra, that is within manufacture recommendations. Ride quality is great, and I can't discern a difference with no load/deflated bags at 5psi, over stock form. The AirLift WirelessOne air pump will maintain a minimum of 5 PSI to prevent damage to the bags. Anyhow, you'll read a lot of hate on the forum for airbags, but if you're carrying loads in the bed, or towing with the appropriate WDH setup, they certainly have their place. The bottom line is, these trucks have a soft rear suspension, and a WDS while it helps, is not an end all be all.

Better put a weight distribution hitch on that thing or new truck and camper is in your future. That will even out your truck for the most part

There is not a lot of hate for air bags. People just think they are a solution for every sag problem.

One thing I dont love about airbags(and i have them) is they will generally limit travel unless you have the kind that sit in the coil spring. I know my Airlifts do.

I haven’t tested the rear travel on mine, but I could see them limiting travel in an extreme case. Which series bags did go with?

Also unlikely that I will be flexing this truck on trails where any loss of travel there might be would result in a reduction of traction. I don’t think it will pose an issue for me or most people who use their truck for towing, and on-road use with the occasional off road use. Have you noticed reduced ride quality as a result? Could just be me, but I haven’t noticed any change when unloaded and at the 5psi minimum.

1200lb tongue weight and a 200lb driver is already at the maximum payload. Maybe the trailer is a little much to be pulled by a Tundra? (Not trying to sound facetious, genuinely asking as it's all new to me too)

I'm having a lift put on my truck monday. 2" front coilovers with a 1" rear spacer (Cornfed). I'm hoping my truck will still sit close to level when towing. Does anyone here know if you can run the airlift bags if you have a lift on the rear?

Yes they work. Just have to confirm the specific bag is correct length. Diesel buddies with 6" lifts and 40s run air bags no problem

Just picked up a trailer and I think ive got a bit of sag. Im also thinking about flipping the axles and it rides quite low. Any info please
Trailer paperwork looks to say around 4-5k dry weight?!
Am watching a wdh setup nearby

If you tow a lot get airbags or a 3/4 ton. For occasional heavy use I’d get the Timbren SES a cheap way to reduce sag

Looking like once you get the sag out (higher rear) the trailer is going to be nose high (unlevel).. You may have to lower the ball another notch or two as well...
Myself... I just went with airbags.. Made a world of difference... Wish I had done it years ago...

Weight Distributing Hitch for the travel trailers. RAS road active suspension upgrade will get rid of the sag for most loads. They are in Charlotte NC and ship anywhere. It is adjustable.
