I have thought about that. Should prolly try it out. A buddy of mine wants to get into it. I should let him practice on my truck :)

Went thru a hailstorm in Montana about three weeks ago. My perfect truck body is no more. Hood & Passenger side took the brunt of it. I’ve always noticed how thin the metal was on this truck especially after trading in a 96 Ram for it. Still, it’s been a great rig and I plan to keep it for another 100k at least. Just turned 96k the other day.

Just curious, has your front end worn out or was it damaged another way? I’ve a ‘05 and now it just hauls a camper but previously it hauled firewood, lumber, and you name it. Everything is still tight although had to replace a ripped steering shaft seal this year.

I have the factory spray in liner, takes a serious pounding with no signs of wear. Only thing that has dented it is when I was heaving 20"+ rounds of green firewood in there, and even those are minimal. I'll never own a truck without again.

That is a great point haha. This box side and whole box for that matter is rusted out. Not really worth fixing properly to be honest. Just keeping my eyes out for a cheaper box in good shape at this point.

Exactly my thoughts. Though I haven't seen any significant dents in my bed. I do use my bed as intended

The bed on the outside dents if you barely touch it. My 2014 had a little dent between the top bed rail and the body line. I took my thumb and lightly pressed in a different spot and sure enough it dented. The metal is so Ridgid there that it doesn't flex or spring. It just dents. Really sucks. My 2019 is barely 6mo old with less than 7k miles. And a kid while trying to demonstrate that the truck is stiff but possibly with his palm, put the 1st dent on my bed. I yelled at him not to do that when I realized what he was fixing to do but it was too late he was already in motion.

Jumping in on this, I have a 2020 tundra never any weight on the back and I never tow anything but these small blemish/tiny dents, keep showing up on the back panel above the rear passenger wheel! There are 5 at this point and they seem to just appear as mad as it sounds I don’t park near anyone etc

Someone has pressed on those spots causing it to dent. It takes literally no pressure to make a dent . The metal is tight there, no give. So any flex. Remains. I noticed this on my 2014 shortly after buying it new.

@Rockgate it’s just crazy such a big truck can be left with dents like that from the smallest touch! Getting a PDR guy out every time I see one is just not cost effective lol

Haha thanks me too. I’m on all blacks like everyone else now
I painted these wheels white before I got new wheels too so the multi color is no more :burp:

Yep, it dents easily. I thought it was Toyota but Ram and GM have same issues. Weight savings thinner metal.

I dented my tailgate first week of ownership loading a Honda Foreman. There is no internal structure, like a coffee can.
