I was preparing to purchase and decked system for a ford and modify it to fit my 2004 Tundra Limited. I contacted Decked and they directed me to use the new Toyota Tundra 2022 Decked system for the long bed. They also suggested I check the Toyota Forums to see if anyone has reported back on this modification.

    Any input would be great

    Thanks

    Brent

There are a couple of threads here on the subject. One showing the actual modifications done.

90 seconds of searching turned these up:

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/decked-for-first-gen-tundra-the-homemade-edition.94423/

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/decked-storage-system-1st-gen-tundra-any-examples.51493/

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/decked-storage-system-for-1st-gen-tundras.36858/

BUT - here is the thread you wanted to see @BeJake:

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/a-near-bolt-in-decked-drawer-system-for-1gts.136717/

If you have an access cab, you can make the new Tundra 3rd gen kit fit. That video shows how.

I have seen a couple of videos and was prepared to modify a 2018-19 Ford Super Duty decked sytstem. But the tech is Decked said the new Toyota Tundra 2022 long bed works actually fits. But he would not commit to specifics. I was hoping to find some one that has tried it.

Yeah, so far no threads have popped up in the 1st gen section about it. The 1st of those three links is kinda the most recent attempt someone made to make something work.

Decked is aware we've wanted a solution for 1st gens for a while, a rep of theirs even replied in the latter two links I posted. If you find the new 2022 fits without major modification, please post back. We'd like to know.

    FYI for 1st gens:
Regular Cab bed is at least 10"-14" longer than Access & Double Cab beds.
Access Cab bed is 2" longer than Double Cab bed.
If I remember right, Access Cab bed is 6'4". Double Cab is 6'2". But I've seen in some places where they +1" each of those numbers.

Bed widths/lengths possibly vary from early years to later years. I'm saying this because when buying my old tonneau cover (TonnoPro), they said it would only fit Access Cab models '04-'06 if memory serves.

All of this stuff may play a factor, so I'm sharing in advance in case it helps with fitment. If you can get Decked to send you a build/spec/measurement sheet on the 2022 decked, we can have a few members w/diff't years and cab styles break out tapes and measure their beds to confirm ballpark fitments.

i am very interested to see if that works. I would love a decked system for my rig. Please keep us updated if you try it.

Very interesting that Decked is saying a system from a 2022 will work.

@DECKEDUSA is a vendor here on the forum, but doesn't look like anyone from Decked has logged in since January '21, so almost 2 years now.

I would be really curious as well if anyone pulls the trigger on one and makes it fit!

I measured my bed the other day on my DC and I believe it was 6’4” so the AC maybe 6’6” if they are 2” longer

I saw a thread (probably here) where someone fit a Decked system to a 1GT. There were some modifications using a jig saw, mostly around the wheel buckets.

Nice but I think the many many how-to videos on the Youtubes could save me some scratch, were I looking for putting drawers in the back of me tundy.

I have a MobileStrong box in the back of my 05 DC. It kind of reminds me if the 1 that @shifty had put up? Dobinson box? It is really heavy and I always find myself taking it out when going on a trip where I have the bed loaded up? I do have a camper shell as well.
