Yeah I can get the gray SR5 TRD and add the grill and some nice tires and wheels and sidestep and it would look like a TRD Pro.

Well, when it comes to color there are no experts, and our opinions are no more or less valid than yours (with the exception of my own, of course). That said, My list would go something like 1) Magnetic Gray, 2) Blazing Blue, 3) Cement

Definitely would. I have a mag gray tundra myself and I love the color.

I love the cement too. I don't envy you in this decision! LOL

Get what YOU want and enjoy the hell out of it!!

Oh thanks bro. LOL. It's a good hard decision but it SUCKS. Cause I don't know. I'm now leaning towards the Magnetic gray or Blazing Blue and making it look like I want.

    Yep. No envy here LOL

Test drive them all and this is what I told my wife to do. Take a picture of me in each of them and see which I liked me better in.

Easy and cheap fix cosmetically (aside from the side bed stamp) 1k-2k and you look like you're driving a pro, another few k and you have just as good a setup if not better in terms of performance.

I'm a nuts and bolts kind of guy. Never needed the tech bells and whistles, function over form, etc. just my opinion.

    when buying remember...

the truck is great...but shit happens..
pay for the platinum warranty with tire and window coverage

1)4 yr old kicked rear power point cover and snapped off,was console side that broke...500 plus labor damage...100% covered no cost to me...
2)2 tires in first year had a issue... 1 had mystery leak and they installed a new one..second had a puncture leak..they again installed a new one...zero cost cost value 300 x 2 600
    3) window got star chip, safelite came out and filled it..great job ...zero cost value 125

warranty was 2800 (700+) plus 480 for tires and windows (ahead 245 so far)...

Awesome advise. That's what I'm gonna do. But I don't think I need the TRD Pro. I think I would like the safety and convenience package...for my wife of course. LOL. Guess I'll find out tomorrow. I'll let you guys know what happens. I'm pretty stoked. Hopefully tomorrow I will become a Tundra owner.

    uggh..remembering so much

the tires warranty is like this.

    defects,damage,odd wear,punctures,slashes ,everything...
and..5 yr no mile limit on mine...
also any tire you install...aftermarket included is covered per my dealers disclosure to me
so monster tire would be under warranty for 5 years

Not quite a beast but it gets me around! Waiting for my tires to wear out before getting some new wheels and bigger tires. Focusing on getting a BOSS suspension and a sway bar

Since that pic, I've blacked out my badges, paracorded my oh shit bars, interior LED's and put a stubby antenna on. Debating on taking off the side steps but wife is fighting me on that LOL (she needs them at 5'7", I don't at 6'3") LOL

I would get the color and package you want....period. Any Toyota dealer can pull inventory from another quite easily. Find a dealership and salesman that you like, stay with them.

Right now, I am going through the same process with my next truck purchase, which unfortunately isn't in the Toyota lineup due to tow/payload ratings.

So far, the best deal has not been going through USAA...that is for sure. My research and willingness to get up, shake a salesman/sales managers hand and walk out the door has been my best bet. Never be afraid to hop on a flight and buy a truck....and don't be afraid to let a dealership know that.
Another easy way to get dealerships to fight for your business without even leaving the comfort of your own home is using Consumer Reports/Truecar. Once you fill out the online form and hit send, be ready. I used this as my backup to my original plan just to verify prices...and it was flawless. Within 30 seconds I had a call from a salesman wanting to sell me a truck thousands below invoice. Right now, it is down to several trucks and a few hundred dollars. I had several sales managers tell me the deal I had was awesome and that is the truck I should buy.

Hell, last night I was so going to get my new truck. We drove it, totally changed our minds on buying a longbed, buying white, and now maybe even dropping down to a 3/4 ton. Last minute the dealership was willing to offer me a 3/4 ton for 5000.00 less than the 1 ton, which they already dropped 3k below invoice. Only bad part is going from 4100 lb payload to 3000 lbs of payload. Otherwise the same vehicle. Not sure if 5000.00 is worth that but I am entertaining it for sure.

Right now, going with invoice and going down is your best bet. Dealerships are needing to get rid of current stock and starting to pay taxes on those vehicles. Not to mention corporate offices are really breathing down the dealerships necks and offering huge incentives to clear lots. You have the buying power right now.

Oh, don't be afraid to pull stuff off trucks as well. Last night I was looking at invoices and had the dealership pull step bars off the truck. No way in hell was I going to pay 800-1000.00 for factory installed equipment when I can buy the same ones for half of what they want to charge me. CraigsList works great too.

Spray in bedliners, stepbars, and all the other little things dealers add on just really jack up your final price...and it is also a good bargaining tool. Last night it worked in my favor. My wife, lord bless her heart, flat out refused to spend 57000.00 without step bars or bedliner. Lol. Guess what is coming in the deal? Yep, a spray in bed liner. Then the 5000.00 vehicle price drop came in as well. Lol. I'm now down in two weeks of research and playing these dealerships against each other starting at 61000.00 for the "awesome end all price" all the way down to 53500.00 for a fully loaded Chevy LTZ truck with a Duramax diesel.

Today I am ready to buy. Yet again, not in Colorado Springs due to the salesman "culture" in my area.

Good luck on your search. Hit it hard, but don't be in a huge hurry and you can save thousands.

    Anytime.

If you have to buy in the Springs, Larry H Miller north, talk to a man named Kim.

    Great purchasing advise from @ColoradoTJ

The only thing I'll add that hasn't been mentioned in this, or the other, thread so far is regarding suspension. If you decide on the Pro, because it is already leveled, the ass end appears to droop way more than other trim level tundras when towing / hauling. So, if you tow / haul pretty regularly, and don't like that nose high look, you'll need to add airbags. If you buy any other trim, you can lift just the front up some, but leave a little rake...or you can lift the whole truck, still leaving a little rake (this is the route I went since I tow my boat regularly)

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the Pro, but this forum will cause you to contract a HUGE case of the "mod bug" and soon you'll be wanting to change the suspension, wheel, tires etc. Getting an SR5 makes more sense in that aspect because you can always tell yourself that you are "improving" your ride instead of ripping parts out that you already paid a premium for. I swore up and down that I wasn't going to touch my truck when I bought it a couple months ago, now I have a build thread and spend most of my free time looking at new parts.

If you want your TRD front end to look like a Pro just swap the grill, headlights and color match what you want. You won't get the TRDPro bedside stamp or stitching, but it'll look pretty close to a Pro on the outside if that's your goal.

My first Toyota was an SR5 with TRD Package bought it brand new, had not had it a week and wished I had gotten a limited, I had never had a truck before that wasnt loaded with leather and stuff. Just make sure you get everything you want on it. You can make practically any SR5 or Limited look like a pro, all it takes is money.
