    Hi Matt,

Will your Deaver spec shocks work with a 1.5” shackle as well without problems? Intend on leaf pack later but don’t went to buy shocks twice. Also, are extended bump stops needed with deaver/spec ads rears setup?

    Hey all,
Ive read back through every post on this thread and am still not sure what to do. Hoping for a little bit of guidance. I have a 2021 Tundra OR. I am set to pick up a V2 GFC in early June (pumped). The XL V2 is right around 230lbs (according to GFC). I am not building some crazy overland rig. I will have the camper on the truck full time and some random crap usually in the back. I would say that unless camping with the family, including the camper, we will not have more than 300lbs in the bed when driving around. I am hoping to lift the truck slightly with Bilstein 5100's and then put a slightly bigger tire on (285/75/17). I initially thought the K37s but after reading, am not sure and leaning towards the U748s.

All that being said, I want to have a setup that is either level or a slight negative rake. More importantly than that though, I want to make sure that I have the appropriate leaf setup for what we use our truck for. We camp, hunt, and go on surf trips out of it. We are a family of four (wifey and I plus a 4 and 6 year old). This is my first real truck and don't know a ton (obviously). The main goal is to do it right the first time. I will also be reaching out to @M C M soon. Any help or guidance is tremendously appreciated.

Look into the Icon RXT leaf pack. It gives you 3 options to adjust how much lift you’d like. I’ve had mine on for a few thousand miles and love them so far.

    Not enough....
I had a Deaver pack on my first gen (I forget the part #, but it has 9 or 11 leaf's similar to the K37). It was smooth, but couldn't handle any weight and was absolutely horrible when I tried to use my truck like a truck. I ended up making a bastard leaf pack with 63" springs from a Chevy 1500 which could actually handle some weight.

Another option, which is cheaper ($540), but will work very, very well for your application is the Dobinsons Leaf pack, L59-120-R. https://www.dobinsonsdirect.com/pro...oyota~md_tundra~yr_2007-2021-suspension-parts

I have this leaf pack and have been extremely happy with it. It is a 4 leaf pack with 2 overload leaf's. It won't blink at eye at 300 pounds in the bed, and provides 2" of lift unloaded. I have loaded it up with a few hundred pounds of wheels and tires, plus my tools, and honestly it didn't even look like I lost any lift. It rides nice and seems to be extremely robust. I'm not sure where you are located, but Main Line Overland is a distributor so if you have one within driving distance like I did, you can save on shipping and just pick it up directly from them.

Anyone recently installed the U748s? I have the Icon RXT Leafs right now on Option 3 (have progressed from 1, to 2 and now 3 over the last year.

I have been rather un-impressed with the Icon's. They are have flattened out pretty quickly and after adding a topper, RTT and bike rack, I am nose high and sagging a lot in the rear.

Looking forward to feedback and other people experiences.

If you really use your truck and have weight in the rear (like it sounds like you do) ..... it doesn't really matter which leg springs you go with, they'll all eventually flatten out over time.

Have Alcan Spring custom build a set. They will build them to your needs. Depends on what kind of ride you expect too. They can build a set of springs that won't sag but ride could be a bit stiff.

I have an appointment to install Deaver u748 with toytec shackles in less than 3 weeks with Deaver. Will keep you posted. I was going to go with ICON rxt but decided to patiently wait for Deaver to come around. I have the icon add a a leaf now and absolutely hate it. Ordered my leaf springs early June and just got the call last week letting know they are ready.

This year alone I've had 3 sets of leaf springs. I had the 748s. I currently have the RXT on option 3. In my opinion the RXTs are much better in terms of load capacity and the additional height. I would not go back to 748s. However, I am moving onto custom Alcan springs to get exactly what I need - more height and more preload.

So I had Deaver install my u748 leafs along with the Toytec shackles at the 1 inch setting. It was a mistake going with the @Toytec Lifts shackles. I have the same issue that others had with the shackles rubbing on the bed mount screws and causing a nasty squeak. I called Toytec support to ask them about the shackles combined with deavers and they told me they are untested and not recommended. What a waste of time and money, I should have gone with any of the other non adjustable shackle options. My recommendation is to stay away from these if you plan to use the 1 inch setting. They are hit or miss. I'm currently sitting at 1.25 inch of rake which I'm good with, but either need to move the shackles to the 1.5 inch setting or buy a new set of shackles. I'm just concerned the 1.5 inch setting will give me too much rake. And no, I do not want to grind away at the screws on the truck.

It might be possible to use a dremel to grind away a corner of the bed bolts with the shackles installed so that they are not rubbing on the shackles. Another option is to remove the shackles and grind off the corners of the shackles so the bolts don't rub.

I'm thinking about just swapping them out with the total chaos shackles and have Deaver adjust the springs so I can keep my existing rake. They have been great to work with and are willing to make this right. They did the install for me so that's a plus about this whole thing. I should have gone with the TC from the beginning. Didn't know they could adjust the springs for me on the spot to adjust the height.

Could you please look at this thread and tell me what you think? Toytec said my springs are flat and should be replaced. I was looking at the OME Dakar springs but saw a thread that they are not recommended. Thanks. https://www.tundras.com/threads/drivers-side-leaf-spring-help.98375/#post-2504521

Anyone know what height fitting the Deaver U748’s would raise the rear? Limited with the clearance I have in the garage! I have +1 coachbuilder shackels installed currently!

Anyone run the u748's with a 10" travel shock? I was running them with Icon RXT shocks but need to have them rebuilt. I have Icon 2.0 smoothies that I was going to put on until the RXT's are back. Would this be okay as a temporary solution, especially without hard off road use or would I be topping them out all the time and risking damaging them?

If +1 coach then you can keep. Others I would change out.
Personally I would go MCM,TC or Camberg do to being thinner and able to fit a bigger tire under the bed. I had +1 coach and went MCM with my 748’s.

With the +3 I would change. With the shackles that long you will wear the leafs out faster. They 748 were designed around a 1.75 in longer shackle not the 3 in longer shackle. So I would go with either of the others.
