Don't I wish. Brand new (3 day old) SR5 (TSS Off Road Special Edition pkg) with a whole 383 miles had to go back in for the airbag recall. ;)
Other than that, I'm loving the heck out of it. My last truck was a 1996 Ford F250 with 7.3L PowerStroke. It went away as a trade in on the Tundra. Hated to see it go (it was like a family member) but I was glad to adopt a new child. :D

Same here, I owned the first gen Tundra in 2001 and loved it when the gas prices were low but now, at $4 per gallon, it's a stretch trying to convince myself that 13MPG is acceptable....

Burning 1 gallon per short drive each way to work sort of bums me out.....

Wish Calif would allow the FFV engines so that I can run the cheaper $3 per gallon E85....

You don’t want to run E85 anyways. Seems most have problems with it. Plus your oil change intervals are cut in half and you get less miles per gallon out of it.

I just picked TRD Sport for about $7k off MSRP. I guess it's good for me, it was very close to Costco wholesale pricing (or cost), at least that's what the fleet manager told me when inquiring at another dealership.

yes, 4x4, Sports TRD with Sport upgrade package.
Dick Hannah Toyota in Longview, Washington.

Also, Dick Hannah dealerships offer a unlimited lifetime , unlimited miles warranty on all new Toyota and certified used Toyota's, (along with their other KIA dealerships) .. covers transmission, engine, drive train, the expansive items - As long as you are the registered owner and do all your maintenance according to the maintenance schedule. Not that hard IMO . :)

I got it for $41,000, I think I got it for a good price. The others around the area didn't have the Sports Upgrade package (like 20" wheels etc) and wanted the same.

BTW, the Costco pricing was only $210 (about $40,690)less at another dealership to buy/trade this vehicle for me but they only offered 60month/60k warranty.

It was a 35 mile drive to get it, no problem. :O

Good taste. I did as well, but mine's black. $8k off MSRP, but my truck had $450 in repaired hail damage.

LOL, technically it's nearly $8 grand off too, since MSRP is $47, 978! ($22 dollars shy of $48,000).

Just put a deposit on a cavalry blue CM OR. 37.5 for truck, msrp was 45352. Got the exact number I wanted for trade (26k, without seeing it in person) , and dealership is bringing it from Iowa for me.

I pick it up Thursday! This deal was 1750 cheaper than any other dealer. I visited 6 dealers and called 4 others.

That's awesome, another $8 grander or so. I also got the trade $ as close to as I wanted without being seen.

Is almost unsettling because you wait for them to try and wiggle out of what they offered, but I have it in writing!

Yep, same here. I did a online "acceptance" thing so they couldn't back out either with trade in value or purchase value. LOL

So how does it work when you negotiate online, do you just tell them what you are willing to pay and then see how they respond? Is it done by email or text? How about if the vehicle is out of state? I am in TX but looking at a Tundra a few states away. MSRP is $51k and they have $3000 off thru Toyota and then the dealer said they matched it for an online price of $45k. Still not going to pay that price though.

You have to pit multiple dealers and try to get them to get your business.

First I searched the web for the one I wanted, get the list price, get your trade in evaluated online at Dealership A. Do not use your real name or email or number. Sign up for something free. Do everything online first before going to any dealership.
Next, Go to another dealer (or call them if it's easier) and ask them how much they can get the car at Dealership A for, ask about any cash backs, incentives, rebates, Costco program, etc. Try to get the lowest price, that's what I did. Also if you have a trade in, ask them about the trade in and say Dealership A will give you $xxxxx.xx. If they can match it or beat it you will possibly buy it from them.

Say you would decide after speaking to Dealership B and that you need time to process and think over it, consult with wife etc.. make up a story! If they want to earn your business they will play nice. Also, don't forget to ask about any extra warranties etc that they offer for free.
If Dealership B can't beat Dealership A deal, then go with Dealership A and start online bargaining. If Dealership B can beat it, then go back to dealership A and say "blah dealership" can beat your price, would they consider coming down to gain your business. It never hurts to ask!
Either way you're going to have to bargin, if they truely need sale or your business they will meet you in the middle somewhere.

For example our previous purchase of a 2019 Subaru Ascent, the initial trade in they wanted to give me was only $15,600. I laughed at their faces and said no - that' I'm not desperate to trade it in and could easily sell it for 20k. I then ask if they could at least do $19,000.. they came back and countered first at $17,500 and I said no thanks, I would drive it a few years and sell it for that amount, then they came back with $18,000! It was within my low acceptance so I took the offer. That's $2400 more than the original offer.. scum bags LOL.

Anyways, with my silverado that I traded in, Dealership B gave me a "Black book" trade in of $24,600, I said no. Told dealership B that I would only consider it if they matched the $26,500 I would consider it. I also mentioned that Dealership A was going to give me $26,500 for it. Dealership B said they would agree, then I stabbed them in the back, and went back to Dealership A told them that Dealership B will offer me $26,500 would they match it. LOL they said they would (unseen) and I also told them about the costo program, they did lower the vehicle's sale price by $700 to $41,195 or something like that but I countered again. I asked if they could do a straight $41,000! The sales manager said yes, that he isn't willing to lose a sell on just $195.

In the end, the list price of $41,961 came down to $41,000 and got the trade in I was happy with.
Hopefully that helps. Also it's worth nothing that if you really want to save money, don't be afraid to search far and wide. If you're truely saving hundreds and thousands, it's worth a couple hour drive sometimes.

Maybe I could've gone down more but I feel like I've gotten a pretty good deal on both trade in and new purchase. I haven't seen another setup like this around the PNW yet for the same price.

I just bought a black 2018 Platinum with sunroof and side steps for 50k, they aren't budging on price much up here in Mass. They had 3 Platinum models left in the whole state so they are getting what they want for them.

Darn. Never thought of it it that way. I am no hurry to purchase thank goodness... May have to consider a '19 instead if it isn't a great deal on the 18s.

    This!

I pitted several dealerships against one another and was able to weed out the pretenders. Then I took a visit to the ones willing to match and finally one said I can get you the color you want (damn that cav blue is going to be worth it) and then they offered to get it via out of state dealer trade. I pick it up Friday.

It all starts by knowing what you want and then throwing darts at a board as far as numbers go.

I low balled knowing I was willing to come up a little to get the real numbers I wanted, the attainable and realistic numbers.

We got ours in bellingham. We are doing a 3 year lease to start. Gets the payment way down. After 3 years we can trade it, or buy it, or just give it back. The price is already set at 32 something. If we buy it would be at that price. If we just give it back we get the difference back between the 32 and what it's actually worth. Plan on keeping it, but might want to look at a newer one by then?

7k, off MSRP(sticker) is about what dealerships are doing here in the PNW. If you can get better than awesome. Like @phabej said, create a new email account just for emailing dealerships, and also i recommend a google Voice number set up. I was surprised how fast i got dealer ships to go 7k off. But in the end, i got the color(QuickSand) I wanted and the truck only had 5 miles. But the tax man here in WA always gets you. 10.1% in Tacoma. I would've gotten a Cement Limited Crew Max, but Foot Hills Toyota wasn't coming down to my number.

Ouch, 10.1% is a lot! I went to Kelso/Longview because it was only 8.4% there, here in Vancouver/Clark county, it would have been 8.7%, another .03%. That's another $123 dollars for me! If would've been worth it to go to a dealer like Longview Toyota and have them do a dealer trade for the one you wanted at a lower tax rate. I would've tried. :)

2% is a lot of money you could save (somewhere around $700-$900)

Heck, I still get emails and phone calls from other dealerships to my Google Voice. LOL I just simply ignore those.

    Same here.
Not in a hurry and watching inventory and pricing on '18.

Not much movement of Tundras in CA probably because of the price of fuel @ $4 / gallon.

Hoping Toyota next month or 2 increases rebate from currently $3,000 to $5,000 they are offering currently in the gulf states like TX, LA, AL, GA on their TSS trucks...
